Customer Questions & Answers

can this be used on vinyl self stick tiles.

can this be used on vinyl self stick tiles.
Asked by: none
Yes. I used it with Armstrong self stick tiles and it worked very well. The adhesive goes on easily and the tiles were firm. Just make sure you are placing the tiles where you want them because they will not come back up without ripping them apart.

what size notched trowel do I use with this product

Asked by: jt
I used the recommended 1/32" deep, 1/16" wide, and 5/64" apart with Armstrong S-750. Other brands might use a different size trowel so read the directions if you buy something other than Armstrong S-750 glue. I highly recommend buying a quality trowel. If you use a cheap trowel on a concrete floor they will wear down quickly and you only have 1/32" to start with. I bought a couple of "el cheapo" Robert's trowels for $2.37 each online. Fortunately I bought 2 of them because they wore down very quickly and I still had to go to my local Home Depot to buy a 3rd trowel to finish my 400 sq. ft. garage floor. You do not need a professional $35 trowel but stay away from the $2.37 ones or buy a lot of them. Also check the conditon of the trowel and the bead of the glue from time to time to see if the teeth are wearing down.

How is this applied? Roller, trowel?

Asked by: Slyfoxx
Depends on the tile you are using. I installed VCT tile and used a trowel. Other types of residential tile recommend to use a roller. Check directions that come with product.

I will be using in a high traffic kitchen and will wet mop the floor. Is it waterproof?

Asked by: Gen47
Good Morning. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. I apologize; however, none of our adhesives would be considered waterproof. This adhesive is safe for use on a substrate that has a relative humidity of 80% or less. Prolonged exposure to water can cause the adhesive to break down. Wet mopping the floor should be fine as long as the water is not allowed to stay on the floor for an extended period of time. I apologize for any inconvenience. Have a great day.

I used this basically like a thin set over bare wood before laying down individual self-adhering tiles. Worked beautifully! This stuff goes on smooth as silk and clean up is easy too. I just spread it with a typical flat trowel. The adhesive also works very well. I know because I had to pry up one of the tiles I put down accidentally. The tile was down for about 20 seconds and I hadn't even pressed it yet. Great product.
