If I am building my own shed, can I use this as a floor foundation? Is it possible to cut to a different size? I am thinking 16' x 5'? Thanks.

Answer:
This is a foundation just for the floor. The building can not sit on this. Also one dimension is set for 10 feet while th other is adjustable 10 to 14 feet. I suspect that any other alteration will weaken it.

Answer:
We do not recommend cutting parts down. We do not have instructions on how to do this so you would be on your own with modifying the base to fit.

and since this says it floats in the shed what attaches it to the ground/shed? Is this literally just set on the ground and the shed built around it? How does the shed get attached to the ground? I was looking at a 10x14 with the gambrell roof

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Served me 10 years Was not too hard to assemble and my plywood floor is still strong after 10 years. I was just lucky to pick a spot where water has never entered even in a heavy flash flood. However if you have water pooling issues you are better off building your floor on 2 x 4s or concrete to raise it off the ground. Since you need to buy the plywood anyway, you are only adding the cost of 2 x 4s and a little more time. I am replacing my 10 year old arrow with a larger, taller 10 by 14 red barn. It suffered hail damage and has some roof rust. My insurance paid me more than enough to replace it. I am considering using this kit again because it is quicker but also considering a 2 x 4 floor frame just to keep all parts of the building. September 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Shed floor frame I was told that I needed to purchase this separate, but it came with one in the shed box so I had to return it. September 13, 2016

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very confusing directions. Was told to ignore them. While my husband and daughter were putting this up, we ran into several problems. This floor kit was supposed to be for the shed we purchased. When speaking with the manufacturer, they told him to ignore the instructions. Say what! The floor is supposed to be the first thing you do. Nope, manufacturer said to do it last. We used a wood foundation, for our floor. The instructions said to make the inside measurements this and the outside measurement that. Nope, foundation is too large. Save yourself the trouble, poor a concrete foundation and buy anchors. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Miscommunication I have yet to put the floor or the shed together. I am having to hire someone. The order for the floor stated that it would take a 10 days to 2 weeks to get in and it came in 5 and I didn't see the email until a week later. I guess I should not trust what I read originally. This could have been clearer. September 30, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wish I built the floor myself... I would not recommend this product to anyone. Assembly was confusing at best. They kept slipping out of the slots that they were supposed to hook into. Once I put the frame for the shed down, trying to get this to fit was difficult. When we stretched it one way it would come out the slots on the other end. I ended up screwing some of the pieces together just to get it to stay. They do not offer much stability and once you put the plywood down the fun really starts because when you start to tighten that down, they really start moving all over the place. If I had to do it all over again, I would not buy this product. As a matter of fact, some days I still think about taking everything out of the unit and building my own floor. As an old friend once told me, you get what you pay for, and she was so right about this... April 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thank you Home Depot for putting it together for me. Floor for a 10'x12' Arrow metal storage shed. Metal floor. June 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 10x12 shed The kit does come complete some of the stamped pieces are easy to read. Some don't but that was not a problem I put the shed together in what I consider a small amount of time I kept checking to make sure all was square & level Most of the time the holes lined up.I would recomend this project to anyone who needs a shed like this one.I am 68 years old and if I can do this anyone can.
