Can I download an instruction video priorto purchase? I need to make sure i have the tools and skills to build this.

Asked by: Carlie
Not that I've found, but you can download the instruction booklet that tells you all the tools needed, as well as additional tools that are just helpful, but not required.

The posts are 102 inches tall. You would have to cut them off and this is not recommended

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product will probably turn out to look ok. The instructions, including the instructional video (... Product will probably turn out to look ok. The instructions, including the instructional video (which was filmed in 1983, it seems) are absolutely garbage. Most steps required several attempts before it could be completed correctly. The instructions aren't detailed and don't give enough information, until much further along in the instructions, and by that point, it's too late. Assembly definitely required 2 people but 3 would have been much better. Holes are difficult to line up, and they give the EXACT number of screws, bolts, wellnuts required, so if one get stripped, you are hunting them down. (Wellnuts are IMPOSSIBLE to match at any local hardware store). Photo attached is unfinished, because after over a week of working on it, that's how it currently is. Unfinished. Hoping another couple of evenings and it will be finished up. (Live in AZ, and it's currently 115-120 degrees during the day, so can only work on it a few hours in the evenings). If you are a master builder, or have a lot of experience assembling these types of structures, I'm sure you'll do fine, but otherwise, have someone who is assist you.

A few issues with this product: a. this product notations did not advise how this would be shipped and/or what the requirements were for the delivery, only after the purchase was made. b. this product did not provide "up front" specifications on how to install in details so to confirm if this product was suitable. c. the trucking company used to "try" and deliver called stating it will be a curbside delivery and it was the buyers responsibility to move it to where it needed to go? in addition the type of delivery truck "18 wheeler" I stressed to the delivery company would not fit down my road and even suggest to google my address. they disreagarded my instructions and called when they were 30 minutes out. I had to call Home Depot 800 line (several times during this) finally reached someone who understood. We refused the delivery HD was to "capture" the order and have it delivered to the local HD so I can "now hire someone" to pick it up. BUT.. when we went to go and pick it up the trucking company lost the delivery??????? the local store manager (he was wonderful along with all the employees there that assisted me) ended up talking with HD corporate and they issued me a store credit. By the way we were at the store for close to 2 hours. Although I appreciate what the local store did and the final person @ the 800 line, I will not recommend this product what so ever and kind of gun shy ordering in line going forward. (if you check you will see that I have ordered frequently). Thanks for your time. Christina B Tew

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good patio cover I ordered on Wednesday and Friday the freight line called wanting to deliver - super fast. I didn't know what to expect for delivery but they said it would deliver on a 53' trailer with lift gate and the driver would have a pallet jack. It was one pallet with three boxes and the delivery ticket said 440 lbs. After much wrangling to get it off the back of the truck with my help, the driver got the boxes to my driveway. They are heavy but two people can move each box. Packaging was okay but there were a few dented panels that needed to be hammered out. Assembly was easy, nothing difficult or complicated, but did take some time - two people one full day. I also downloaded the instructions ahead of time and poured pads for the posts so they were ready for installation. The only issue we had was the screw holes not lining up on the outer channels and after trying every combination to get it to work we decided to just drill it out. So we lined up the top holes for the rubber inserts and drilled our own pilot holes below. Installing the roof panels is an unusual method but once you get it down it goes really fast. Final product looks really good and feels really sturdy.
