How easy are the instructions to follow and how easy is assemble?

Asked by: Rob S.
First it is not 10'x14'. It is a little wider than 10' and many inches shorter than 14', more like 131/2 feet. check the measurements before making the foundation. The shed is actually easier to put together with 3 people. I recommend you mark the pieces clearly with a marker as the numbers are hard to see. When they sent my shed they inadvertently sent extra pieces that must belong to a different shed. Organize your parts in piles and have the screw ETC. handy on a table and set up the screws and bolts with the clear silicone washers beforehand as it goes faster that way. Have at least 2 battery operated drills handy as it makes it faster. If you get the beef up room kit it has too many parts as well. It is a long process more than the times mentioned by someone else. Make sure you have time to finish it once you have the frame built. Anchor the frame then continue as it may shift and cause more problems down the road. Have drill bits handy as the holes don't always match up. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on the ladder. 2 ladders work best. Also I would recommend wearing some kind of shin guards as you will spend a lot of time leaning into the rungs on the ladder and spending a lot of time contorted on the ladder. There is a lot of reaching out once you start putting the roof panels on. I like the shed though and it's roomy. I recommend a floor either made from concrete or one made out of redwood. Be careful when putting it together as the panels are thin and bend easier and dent easy. Good luck. :)

what size wood are we going to need for the floor of this shed?

what size wood are we going to need for the floor of this shed?
Asked by: jack
You will want 5 sheets of 4'x8' plywood, not pressure treated, at least 5/8" thick. I recommend 3/4" though.

Under the roof ridge is a wide gap; the shed includes tape to cover the gap, but the tape really doesn't adhere well enough to provide a water tight seal. We called Arrow's customer support and were told that they'd pay for a roll of Gorilla tape to fix the issue. We had our own roll of Gorilla tape, so we disassembled the roof in order to access the gap. Just had another heavy rain, and the shed still leaks. Called customer support again, and Samantha told us that the shed is not designed for items that are affected by "condensation?!" Told her that this is not a condensation issue, that the roof leaks. So far, no resolution, so we plan to take up the issue with Home Depot. Amazing!

Even when locked, this shed is not secure. As soon as it was installed, someone kicked the door in. We hadn't even had the shed long enough to start using it for storage and the shed is now useless because it can no longer be locked.

The execution of the assembling was more complicated, strenuous and time consuming that expected. Moderated wind, the sun metal reflections and heat are constraints that came to play. Too many screws, nuts and parts to keep up with, I wish it was more friendlier jointed for the price. Most of materials will cut you, everything has very sharp corners and edges, don't let small children or pets in the work area. The instructions are OK although sections of it were hard to follow when trying to determine the correct part to use by following the illustration. Home Depot delivery partner was excellent, good communications and service placing the order on my premises. The components are well painted and fits correctly within the structure. The completed assembly serves us well as a semi-permanent and on the budget storage structure, however, I wish there was a Home Depot product experienced team that would assembled it for if cost allows. Is hard for me to recommend the product without a professional installer included, even when I am good with tools and in good physical conditions, the time, effort and frustrations throughout the assembling of it undermines the purchase satisfaction. If the package includes a product experienced installer crew, I would definitely recommended.

The (over 400) tiny sheet metal screws which are totally inadequate. They are #8 and way to short to secure two layers of sheet metal plus the plastic washer. The first ones I installed popped out. I purchased 3/4" #12 roofing screws. They already have the rubber seal on them. The screws holding the upper door track either need a shorter screw (1/2") or use a Dremel tool to trim them a little shorter so the door hangers will clear. One other problem was the plastic door handles. I installed a metal padlock hasp to secure the door better. Other than that, my wife (81) and I (85), got it up in a couple days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my second one !! I bought this same shed several years ago and really liked it, so I went for a second one. The direction are very clear and no one should have any trouble assembling this shed. You do have to have help and both workers need to have power drills. There are ALOT of screws. Both of us are in our late 60's, so we took two days for the project. Two days later it rained and no leaks. I had sealed the outside base with roofing cement as the direction stated. Much better then caulking.!! I will buy a third if needed in the future. Oh, one more thing. We had a 100 mph wind here some months back, and a no damage to the to the first shed.!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy it First issue is the instructions ....horrible. The quality is low. Very thin metal. The roof pieces have to be creased to make the shape which of course causes cracks in it. They give you tape to put over those cracks. The roof does not have enough bracing to handle any snow load. Luckily it does not snow often here. Good points they give you extra hardware to make sure you have plenty. And they have it set up for a double floor for strength. We did not use that feature because we built a very sturdy base. Wish those extra pieces would have been for roof brace strength.

When I called the company to enquire about the flooring, I was told to put wood down. The problem with their suggestion is that termites would have a field day. It's also poorly made. Many of the panels were bend or had kinks in them, so it looks kind of lousy up close as well. I guess you get what you pay for. Knowing what I know now............I would've spent the money on a better quality shed.
