Hello, John. It's possible that your hammer tacker may be jammed. We have a video of how to clear a jam in the HT55 hammer tacker here: http://bit.ly/20Z58GF. If that doesn't solve the issue you are addressing, please contact us by email at customercare@arrowfastener.com or by calling 800-776-2228. We would be happy to walk through the troubleshooting process with you. Thanks! -Your Arrow Fastener team

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 63 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Arrow Fastener Hammer-Tacker Perfect size for tacking radiant barrier in your attic. Slim design helps getting in to tight places. The only issue is the staple refill spring holder that holds the refill staples in occasionally pops out while stapling. You might want to duct tape the staple refill holder to keep it from "bouncing out" and losing all your staples during use. October 20, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of time and money Stapler jammed, watched at the Arrow video to clear the jam but that didn't help since the stapler jammed in the "up" position making it impossible for the magazine to slide out. After prying it open I was able to clear it, but it kept jamming afterwards. There is something wrong with the rails, the pusher assembly gets stuck on the rails too. If you get this product and it it jams, clear the jam, but then insert the pusher assembly without staples and verify that moves freely along the rails; if it doesn't you will have problems, so do yourself a favor and return it. Wasted too much time unjamming and trying to get this thing to work. I shouldn't have to be the one doing quality control on their product. August 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No problems whatsoever! I just used this tool to install about 150ft of homewrap on my detached garage and went through a large box of 1/4" staples. I had no jams whatsoever and I was really working this thing hard! I tacked the wrap at about 1 staple every 12 inches, so that is a LOT of staples! I was also tacking them at a rate of about 1 per second at times. Now I haven't tried the longer staples in this, so maybe that is where you start to see the jamming issues, but for me, I didn't have any problems. July 12, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Going back! Got one staple to fire out of this. I was reluctant to buy it because I've had lots of trouble with another Arrow stapler that I have. Staples there times then jams! August 26, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by must not know how to use it the stapler jammed hte first day and I returned it to the store. I received a new one which jammed the second time it took someone at the store over an houir to fix it. when working with it it would occassionally drop a staple along with the one it tacked. just not very good September 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buy a better tool Don't waste your time with this inexpensive stapler. I used it for two rows worth of staples - it's jammed so bad that I can't get the staples out - one of my worst tool buys ever. Should have known better, only needed to use it for an hours worth of work - didn't make it 10 minutes. A total waste of time and money. August 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Staple Jammer I had this tool for about 6 months. Everytime I use it staples get stuck like other reviews have said. Finally I got fed up this morning and I smashed it and threw it into the trash can and decided to write this review. Im going to home depot to buy a cheaper one because obviously spending more doesn't always mean quality. August 27, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the purchase - broke after a few uses. After just a few uses (3-5 staples) this miserable thing jammed and stopped working. There were no instructions in the package to instruct you how to clear a jam. After taking it apart and still no luck, I gave up and returned it to the store. I picked Arrow because of their history with stapler products. Big mistake! Avoid this thing and pick another model/brand. June 16, 2015
