Hammer-Tacker is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 70.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hammer Tacker that is junk I purchased this hammer tacker for putting up faced batt insulation and poly. Wanted something light, dependable and good at setting the staples. Arrow - that is a name brand in this market. The first one I purchased, did not set the staples flush like you would expect and it jammed often and broke before burning through 1000 staples. Returned and got another unit. Same results. This thing can NOT take working for a living. Don't bother with this unit!! I have more money and time in buying and returning the units and the half used boxes of staples then they are worth! Ended up going back to my old reliable unit the "TANK" my Duro-Fast hammer tacker. It is a tank in that it is big for this application but it work like a tank.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Had to exchange for new one when the frist one jamed. Before you use the Hammer-tacker give it a good spray of WD-40. I did not do that the first time and the Hammer jammed. I tried to get it unjammed but nothing seemed to work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time and money Stapler jammed, watched at the Arrow video to clear the jam but that didn't help since the stapler jammed in the "up" position making it impossible for the magazine to slide out. After prying it open I was able to clear it, but it kept jamming afterwards. There is something wrong with the rails, the pusher assembly gets stuck on the rails too. If you get this product and it it jams, clear the jam, but then insert the pusher assembly without staples and verify that moves freely along the rails; if it doesn't you will have problems, so do yourself a favor and return it. Wasted too much time unjamming and trying to get this thing to work. I shouldn't have to be the one doing quality control on their product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Constant jamming! Purchased two HT55's to install house wrap. Using genuine Arrow T50, 5/16" staples. We made it 20 feet before both units were completely jammed in the closed position. There is no documentation on how to clear the jam, nor is the youtube video useful. I ended up removing both bolts on the back, and pulling the release pin to let the magazine up enough to pry it back into the open position. I then had to use two electronics screwdrivers to pry the jammed staple out. Every 10-20 feet we either had a jam or the staple pin got pushed back in the full open position, and we'd need a screwdriver to push it back. Terrible design! Waste more time fixing it then actually working. I'm going back to a conventional staple gun.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from jams up constantly , difficult to clear i bought this brand new tack hammer to put tar paper on my garage roof . it was late in the day and rain was coming - got the first strip of tar paper down... within the first 100 staples this piece of junk jammed up . took me several minutes to pry it open and reload - about 50 staples later - it jammed up again was even more difficult to clear - then another 20 staples and it jammed up again - I spent more time trying to fix this awful tool than using it - I got couldn't even finish the second strip - after the third jam - I threw this useless piece of junk off the roof . thanks to ARROW and the poor quality of their product - the tar paper did not get put down and the plywood all got wet. I will NEVER buy another ARROW product EVER.
