I am looking for an electric staple gun for reupholstering. Any suggestions?
Asked by: bonzo
Hello, there, For most upholstery projects, the T50ACD-R Compact Electric Staple Gun and the T50DCD Cordless Electric Staple gun (http://thd.co/2jXwI7R) are both excellent choices. However, if you're reupholstering a hard plastic like ABS, we recommend using Arrow's PT50 Pneumatic Staple Gun (http://thd.co/2hSgEiq). If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at customercare@arrowfastener.com or find us on social media. Good luck! -Your Arrow Fastener team

Would this work to put down carpet on stairs?

Asked by: Kay
Hello, Kay. Yes, the R.E.D. Compact Electric Staple Gun should work to put down carpet on stairs. Remember that since you're working with a softer material, you may need to put more pressure on the tool to ensure the contact safety is pressed. To pick the best staple size, choose one that equals the thickness of the carpet base (not including the pile), plus 3/8-inch. Typically that means the 1/2-inch staple is the most appropriate. If you have any further questions, you can reach us via email at customercare@arrowfastener.com. Good luck!

Hi, would this stapler work on stapling a cedar picket of 5/8 thick?
Asked by: DIYguy
Hello, there. Yes, you can use Arrow's T50ACD-R Compact Electric Staple Gun to fasten something to this picket. It will not, however, fasten the picket to another item since the max staple size shot by the T50ACD-R is 1/2-inch. Unit appears to be built well, but doesn't set 1/2 inch staples effectively. Had to set approximately 75 to 80 percent of the staples with a small hammer. The unit is very quiet while operating, but the failure to set staples makes it a failed unit for my purposes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for all surfaces I bought the gun to staple vinyl onto a plywood surface. A 36 inch by 18 inch piece of vinyl. Not a lot. No matter how much pressure I used or what angle I used, the 3/8 inch staple would not go all the way in. I had to use a hammer to finish off every staple.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from issue first day i used it Started using this today to hang some plastic sheeting in my garage, about halfway through my project, stapler stops working, all it does when I push the trigger is make a whirring sound for a few seconds and then nothing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It is a joke Still need a hammer, don't shoot with enough power. Their staples are weak and break the string into a few and they just fall out of the stapler by shaking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from breaks quickly and often I'm on my third one now and still working on the same small 720 Sq ft house. They seem sturdy but don't last at all

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor performance For hard surfaces, it works well, but when I tried using it to staple some 1/8" thick foam, it almost never fires without me pressing so hard that the foam gets damaged. The problem is that there is a safety lever on the tip that must be fully pressed in before the staple gun fires. The designers made it so that it takes a lot of force to push in the safety lever. If the surface you are stapling to isn't really hard, the safety lever won't push in and the gun won't fire. Even 1/8" thick foam over a hard surface is soft enough to make the gun not work. Really disappointing. I thought stapling soft things like foam, fabric, etc. was pretty common. I would think that the designers would have thought of that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from needs a small fix This is a nice inexpensive electric stapler that I bought to install fiberglass insulation in a small project. I used a hammer stapler I already had and it was hard to get a good strike without tearing the insulation. the new electric stapler is much better for the job, but it is VERY HARD to get the safety pin in the retracted position to fire a staple. The range of angles is limited to 90 degrees and it is frustrating to get it close but it still won't fire until the stapler is at 90 degrees. please make it more user friendly...if someone staples their hand, they will only do it once. I have to spend extra time and effort to get the unit to staple..maybe change the ergonomics. for the price it is ok, but I didn't get a more expensive one since I don't use it that often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgraded Starter Had a 10 year old model that finally gave out and was going to replace it... This model is so much better! Love the fact that this is much sturdier than the old one I had and has a much better feel in the hand, it feels like a real tool. It isn't so light that it feels flimsy, but not too heavy to be lugging up and down the ladder for my 2nd story Christmas Lights. I was going to fix the old one but after using this new model, I may just go buy a second one of these, makes the easier and faster!
