Answer:
I will know the answer for sure in another 6-12 months since I am putting my cabinet on my deck also. I am tucking it in the corner of the deck as far away from rain as possible. So there will be no water hitting the cabinet, just residual moisture. I did not want a rubberized product, pressed wood, or real wood so this is my beat alternative, I figured.

Answer:
I live in a dry area but would say this cabinet is water resistant - not water tight. The finish is good and even after putting it together, did not expose any metal that would rust.

Answer:
THE DRAWER IS NOT WATER TIGHT AND THEY ARE NOT DESIGNED TO GO OUTSIDE.
THERE IS NO UV PROTECTION IN THE PAINT SO IT WILL EVENTUALLY FADE AND THEN ONCE THE PAINT FADES IT WILL START TO RUST.

No it should not rust. It seems to have a very durable paint coating. We really like it. Stores a lot of tools, charcoal, pellets and barbecuing items.

Answer:
If its covered in the western states maybe you will be ok. The drawer is not water tight. I can't confirm if it would rust, common sense tells me yes it will. What I do know, is that if the cabinet is not under cover, the rain will seep into the cabinet and ruin your contents.

I live in a dry area and mine are in the garage - but I would say you would be good to go if under a covering - not exposed completely to the elements.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice garage cabinet I purchased this cabinet due to the combination of the top drawer and space underneath and it is perfect for what I need. I put rubber shelf liner in the top drawer and keep frequently used tools and a few odd tools that fit best in a drawer. The bottom section includes a shelf you can install but I left it out and keep larger items behind the cabinet doors. Once put together the fit and finish is good and the drawer and doors work as they should. This is a great cabinet for small garages and when you're tight on space. May 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by "Awesome Cabinets" I purchased 3 base cabinets and 4 wall cabinets along with the Arrow locker. I took a chance buying these without being able to see them but after looking at the Husky cabinets I was very dissapointed that the doors opened past the sides so the cabinets could not be bolted on the wall together. Then I saw the bolts sticking up for the castors inside the cabinet!! overall very cheap!! These cabinets took about a half hour apiece to put together ( alot of screws) and the fit and finish was very nice and solid. No need to square up the doors here just put it together and hang them up. Everyone that comes into my garage says the same thing "Awesome Cabinets" Do youself a favor, dont try to cut corners and save a couple bucks and try these they will definatelly last for many years to come and i could not be happier I am already saving up my money to buy several more for the other half of my garage April 19, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not a bad looking Cabinet. Metal is somewhat on the thin side. The unit looks nice. The one back wall half was not drilled correctly, had to redrill so holes would line up. Metal in bottom of drawer not very sturdy. Some parts were bent. There is one screw that you have to screw in to attach part of the drawer to and to do this you have to bend the metal flap up. It would be better to drill a hole into it so that a phillips head screw driver will fit in to it to tighten the screw. Much better then having to bend the metal up and then bending it back down. Poor design. Overall not a bad unit. Also the assembly diagram not great. May 22, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic storage solution After reading reviews of other products, I decided the metal design was better than the pressed wood I found on models in the store. The cabinets arrived at my door as promised, packaged very well with out issue. I ordered five lower units with wheels and two upper wall mount units. I was a little taken back with the amount of time it took to assemble all the pieces, but when completed (3 days) I was very impressed. The assembly instructions are spot on except the drawer assemble - they failed to mention there is a lever to push to separate the arm - but after you figure out the first one - everything is a breeze from there. The engineering promises for a long lasting product. I would recommend this product. Made in China. December 5, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spacemaker Garage Storage Base with Drawer I created a new use for the cabinet. The dwawer holds barbecue tools. The doors hide charcoal, pellets, and bird seed. I really like the color and it is easy to roll exactly where I want it. I am having thick glass installed in the recessed top of the cabinet to protect the finish from sauce, etc It's on my honey do list. I will send a picc when I get the project complete. I really like this cabinet, it. took care of a lot of clutter. August 21, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Full Assembly Required There are 96 screws to assemble this cabinet. The directions say you only need a Phillips Head screwdriver. Not true. Use an electric screw driver & a manual one to save some time. Having another set of hands (a helper) is very useful, per the instructions. I would not have bought this if I knew the amount of assembly required in advance. Looks nice. Metal is vey thin. Easy to dent. Made in China July 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Cabinet Bought this with 4 upper cabinets. Missing handles on this product otherwise my rating would be excellent. Called Spacemaker on the instruction pamphlet. Received a actual person, very polite. Received the handles by mail - no hassles. Cabinet is sturdy. Would buy again. April 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Storage Good quality unit that will provide adequate storage. Product ordered and picked up at Home Depot. Some of the pieces were damaged and could not be used. Manufacturer sent replacements quickly and at no charge. July 26, 2013
