Customer Questions & Answers

does it have a floor

Asked by: Anonymous
No. You either have to build a base yourself (which we did) or buy the floor kit separately.

Can the door go on the other end?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, the door can go on either end. I put two sheds end-to-end, so one has the door on the right, the other on the left.

Yes it can be painted. My son and I painted mine.

is this rust proof?

is this rust proof?
Asked by: MC
Rusting can occur if the paint finish becomes "scratched" or " broken" ..You would need to "touch up" any scratches that may happen. Also, keeping a spay-on wax on the unit will also help surface rust from starting

Very flimsy and it started to rust very quickly. I am replacing it with a vinyl shed that also has a floor and ledges for shelves which this has neither. I honestly don't think it could support a shelf anyway. The vinyl one I just bought is the same size and over $100 cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good enought for the price I bought this shed because the dimensions fit where I needed it. I also liked the fact that it didn't have a floor. I could bolt it to the wood deck that I build as a foundation. I assembled it by myself in 10 hrs, and I work slow. Everything lined up perfect, all pieces were there, all holes were in the correct spot. Can't ask for better than that. This is not an air tight shed, but it's dry and it keeps the sun out. Ordered online and arrived in 1 week. I also got price protection and was credited back $80. Home depot is amazing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wanna Divorce? Build this one! Unless you are a masochist don't tackle this alone. Get a helper! Get your spouse, see what your relationship is really made of. Better yet, use this for a competitive team building exercise. Heck make it a drinking game. Great for sparking fights. My wife and I read all the reviews and decided to give it a go anyways. We didn't rush it and took the better part of a week to get it together..we're retired. We laughed much more than we cussed, but you'll cuss I guarantee! Audit the kit for its contents. I think we were lucky that all the parts were present. Wear gloves Chinese sheet metal is sharper than most. Lot's of bummer screws, good thing they give you 50% more than there are holes to fill them with... you'll be using them. The documentation needs help and when parts didn't fit its because you made a mistake up stream. You CAN get it right. At one point we yelled at each other for so long we had to quit. Marriage advice: when you get stumped sleep on it. For the record the fit and finish is okay but depends solely upon one's patience and sheet metal experience. A good foundation is mandatory, we built it between our house and the fence. A five foot space for a four foot wide shed. I recommend the Arrow Floor Frame Kit Store SO SKU# 514274. It paid off during the home stretch of getting the diagonals to match and for it to be level. The final fit depends on this. Overall, buy this and build it if you want a challenge. It won't let you down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product, but I'm a Mechanical Engineer... Have faith in the instructions- they are actually well-written and thorough. The problem seems to be in learning the nomenclature. Ex: When the instructions state "1st side" or "4th side" you need to know EXACTLY what that is. (It's the row of outside skin, 1st being lowest, 4th being last, that wraps up to become the roof, and these "sides" go all the way around the shed, so the "2nd side" will be at waist high as you walk ALL the way around your shed.) Also READ READ READ the instructions. NOTICE the little drawings of the fasteners, they show EVERY LITTLE DETAIL like washers or no washers, so keep an eye on that. I found a power screwdriver (set on LOW torque) to be invaluable, I also had to hold some tiny bolts in place with my own tape so I could go inside the shed and put a nut on the bolt. Also, mini Vice Grips helped to hold a nut still whilst tightening the bolt outside. (Another person can help, but can also distract you, your call.) Notice on the Instruction Sheet, that there are marked squares with large numbers in weird places on the page, those are your STEPS, follow in the order given. Oh, also, all large pieces have part numbers either printed on or stamped into them, use these numbers to lay out your parts. IF you see a tiny pinhole in the metal, that means a pointed screw will go there, DO NOT EVER drill holes in this assembly, everything will fit. I had entire sections screwed together a little loose so I could shift things around to make holes line up right- BE PATIENT, use COMMON SENSE and you'll make it. Lastly, I found it very helpful to sort out all your fasteners, mine came packed in one bag like mixed nuts. The differences are very slight at first, but after you get it sorted, the actual build will take only 5 or 6 hours. (I built two alone, a 7 footer and a 10 footer.) I also found it is best to be sober and not in a hurry when doing this... ...if you like Erector Sets, this is for you, if you want to put your wheelbarrow in RIGHT NOW, then maybe not...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A pain to put together, but does a nice job of protecting my outdoor tools Once completed, the shed fit nicely where I had envisioned it going, so I am pleased with that. But I originally had planned to build and install the shed myself; instead hiring a handyman to do so, as it was going to take to much time and effort on my part. Fortunately, I knew someone because Arrow does not provide recommendations or names of "contractors" that can do such a job. Believe me it is an all day ordeal. But am happy now that it is completed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Over all a good shed for the money Over all I liked the materials, plenty of extra screws were included, good instructions, good packaging, and over all good design. I'm very happy with the purchase, it fits perfect on my side yard. I found the instructions to be helpful, however a few times I had to guess and experiment to get the right fit. The most frustrating part is that this shed is designed to go against a building but you can not build it against a building. That means it has to be built then moved into place if it will be up againsta building. You MUST have at least 2 people and there were a few times that a third was helpful. As it is constructed some parts need to be supported until other pieces are in place. I would say the experience level needed is farily low. Most anyone that has experience with hand tools should do fine. Do NOT build if there is any wind. The material is lightweight and even a small breeze caused major trouble while constructing the shed. Mine was blown over onto its side from a light wind before it was secured down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Size for Small Space This shed is exactly what we needed for a narrow area between the back of our house and fence. Delivery was on time and intact. It did take two of us a full day to erect, however, instructions were pretty straightforward. It is a little flimsy and the door dented easily when we were installing it, but it is in a low traffic area so I hope it withstands wear and tear ok. The door installs either end which is good, and it looks very unobtrusive against the house.
