This hearth rug is about an inch thick and very plush. The colors are rich dark browns and earthy greens, with just enough light tans to make it look luxurious but homey. The teal color is not that prominent.
Our purpose in purchasing a heath rug was to save our floor from ambers/sparks. The 100% wool is a great since it does not melt or catch on fire.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by GabeR Looks great, expected better quality though and sheds a lot
The appearance of this rug is good, but this rug sheds excessively. We have had this rug for about 2 months and it sheds an enormous amount. It needed vacuuming daily for the first month, and even now we vacuum it every week still (and it really needs it more often).
I also noticed several 'hard' lumps on the carpet below the fibers in several areas. I'm guessing these are balls of glue that have dried up and formed hard pellets on the rug. I've had to remove over a dozen of these taking up some fibers with it.
The rug is comfortable and looks nice. It also seems to be of decent quality wool.

Cons - as I read in prior reviews there are some hard glue like spots (not visible) that if you step on with bare feet you will know it and it feels like something is stuck in there. I was hoping since this was an ongoing problem, once the 9 x 9 was available again online it would have been take care of. Also, not until we unwrapped all the outside packaging did we realize there were three puncture areas (from shipping) that I was afraid went through the backing to the rug. It did not, so I kept it. Also, once the 9'9" x 9'9" square is online for the sale price, it is not there for long. I saw this on sale but not in stock and once I saw it in stock and it went back on sale it was only available for a few days so they probably only make a few at a time and offer even less of them at the considerable lesser sale price. I'm glad I pushed the button the minute I saw it again on sale.
Pros - this design is really beautiful and looks more expensive than it is. My designer actually picked this one out of the lineup I presented her with and I'm glad I listened. It is also thicker than I thought which I am glad of and rivals some more expensive name brand rugs I have paid way too much money for in the past. I have it under furniture on three sides and doesn't shift even though on wood floor with no pad. If you like this pattern, I would buy it as soon as I see it in stock (there are many sizes) and on sale if possible.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wrongway Looks Great! Feels Horrible!
This rug was great as long as you didn't walk on it without shoes. It had glue spots in hard lumps everywhere, like walking on small rocks that were not visible, but you could feel them. We tried to break up one of the lumps with a hammer and that didn't effect it at all. This is the worst rug I have ever seen and it wasn't cheap.
