Customer Questions & Answers

Will it dull the bright blinding light that comes through an archive sh as pedal window

Asked by: dggd
Yes, it will definitely dull bright blinding light.. We put it on to keep car lights from shining in and for privacy. I used this film on an oval front door window with beveled glass. The inside is smooth glass so it stuck well. It will not work on wavy or pebbled glass. It must be a perfectly smooth surface.

How long will the film stay on? Will it slide or peel off on its own?

Asked by: mavis28217
Instructions state it will last up to 4 years, depending on conditions. When you first put it on it will slide so it is easy to get it exactly where you want it. Once it dries it can easily be peeled off. There is no glue used, only mild soapy water.

Way, way easy. It only uses water with a few drops of liquid hand soap. There is no glue at all. Simply pick an end loose and peel. Quick and easy.

Customer Reviews

24 in. x 36 in. Clouds Decorative Window Film is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY COOL EFFECT We have an oval window in our front door that was clear glass and some frosted glass and all was beveled. It looked nice but was not very private. You could see right into the living room and part of the master bedroom. Plus car lights would shine right in my eyes at night. This film fixed all of that and still let in some light and looked really cool. During the day you can hardly tell it is there from the outside and from inside it looks like the sky with some clouds. It took a bit of work to get a good fit, especially when the instructions tell you to make sure to leave a 1/16 inch gap between the film and the edge of the frame. I made a cardboard pattern first that fit snug then trimmed the film to fit fairly well. It was difficult considering it was an oval in a wood frame that was a little uneven. It took me 2 hours to cut and fit and only 5 minutes to actually install. Make sure you follow the instructions closely for best results and longest life. A rubber window cleaning squeegee works best but any flat straight edge will work. Try a 6 or 12 inch ruler with no sharp edges. Our window was 38 inches by 15 inches so we needed to lay the pattern corner to corner to fit the 24 by 36 inch film. Our piece of film did have one minor flaw. A slightly lighter spot with a dark bump but it was small enough not to be noticeable. I just hope it does not break the seal holding it to the glass. I tried to show flaw in a photo. The manufacturer claims it has a life of about 4 years but I doubt it will last that long in our Arizona sun and heat. I will write another review when it fails.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NICE PRODUCT FOR PRIVACY The Artscape clouds decorative window film is a good way to ensure ones privacy and prevent people from being able to see into a window of a bathroom, etc. This window film gives the look of stained glass and provides protection from damaging sun rays while still allowing natural light in. It was easy to install and can be removed with ease when decide to change design or leave window without any covering. I installed this film on the window in my shed to give the shed a unique look while also preventing anyone who comes on property from seeing what is stored in shed. The only downside to the roll of window film is when I installed it on window I noticed tiny little bubbles in one section of film that could not be removed. I did leave the roll in the shed for days before installing it and it got hot in the shed. This may be the reason for the bubbles but am not sure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NICE PRODUCT We received the window film in a protective cardboard cylinder. The directions were very easy to follow. You must use scissors to cut the film. If you use anything else, it's difficult to cut. After thoroughly cleaning the window, you peel the cut film from it's backing. You then wet the window with water and place film into place. It says to use a squeegee to set film but I didn't have one so I used a credit card to set film in place and disperse water. Once it's set and all water and air bubbles are removed from behind film it's ready. It was very easy to install. I wish there was a longer size available as this didn't quite cover both top and bottom Windows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and Easy Installation for Window Privacy! This window film could not be easier to install! It does not have an adhesive backing that would stick and leave residue, but it does stay in place very easily, sort of like "static electricity cling" I suppose would be one way to explain it. All I know is that it works well! Re-positioning or removal and re-use in another window is very simple! Just lift a corner and it comes right off with no clean up required. I cuts well with just a pair of scissors. Another benefit is that it protects the inside of your house from the Sun's UV rays, but it still allows filtered light to get in. I would highly recommend this window film for windows where you want some privacy but also some daylight!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Privacy window I have purchased this before for a port hole window that was in my Master bathroom in an apartment near Port Aransas, TX. Now I am a school teacher in West Texas. This year our theme for the school is "Teach like a Pirate". I have six small 36"x12" windows that face out into a hallway. I think it will be perfect for an added accent inside and outside the room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleasant if not Perfect We got this film to replace another design that we’ve had in our shower “porthole” window for about a year. The moisture finally caused the other film to shrivel. It lasted a long-time, so we thought we’d give this product another try, because the window placement requires privacy and its not conducive to using a shade or curtain. Installation was not difficult, the most challenging aspect was to measure and cut the film to the right shape and size. I used the prior film (which peeled right off of the window) as a template, traced the shape onto the new film with a #2 pencil and cut along the traced lines. I wet the window with a generous spray of water, and it easily slid into place on the window. An old credit card served as a perfect squeegee to remove any air bubbles below the film. If you're starting from scratch, I recommend using a newspaper or cardboard for a template, since the film is not very forgiving of cutting errors (meaning, you will probably notice erroneous cuts). The new cloud design is pleasing, but did not let as much light through as the design it replaced (which was more of a white translucent glass-like design), and it was not quite as much to my liking. Looking up close, I notice dirt/debris on the outside of the window showing through as a shadow near the edges, so I’m not sure I would pick this design again. I would prefer a design that does a better job of hiding outside widow debris, smudges and dirt. Otherwise the film serves the intended purpose and works well.
