Customer Questions & Answers

Can you use grout for these tiles?

I dont like the look of them so close together. can i use these with grout and do i have to use them as peel and stick can i also grout them to my wall?
Asked by: Rebecca
Hello and thank you for your question. A sand-less grout can be used. A grout containing sand is not recommended as the grout may scratch the surface of the tile in the cleanup process. If you want a grout-line look, colored or white silicone caulking will have the same effect and is easier to apply and at the same time providing a water-tight seal. Be sure to remove excess caulk or grout before it dries.

Can I put these over vinyl substrate?

Asked by: Amanda
Hello and thank you for your interest in our product. The adhesive on the back side of the Aspect tiles is highly aggressive and pressure sensitive. Proper wall preparation is required. Aspect can be installed over most structurally sound substrates if they are clean, flat, smooth, dry and free of dust, wax, soap scum and grease. Acceptable substrates are drywall, plaster or clean, smooth tile (glazed, porcelain-type tile; not porous or textured). Any damaged, loose or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled and primed. Fill cracks and irregularities with wallboard compound or spackling, then sand smooth with fine-grit sandpaper. Also, to prevent the color of your wall from showing through the seams of your Glass Aspect installation, one coat of paint (in the finish of your tiles) can be applied to your wall before installation. Please feel free to contact our customer care team at 800.434.3750 for any further questions or needed assistance. Thank you!

Can these be used in a bathroom, including on the shower walls?

Asked by: tball
Hello! Thank you for your question! Yes, the Aspect tiles can be used around the outside or above a shower, as long as the tiles are not exposed to certain shower and bathtub cleaners. Once you have your backsplash installed, the tiles can be cleaned with soap and water only. Any harsh abrasives will damage the finish on the tiles. For this reason, we normally do not recommend using our tiles as a shower or bathtub surround. Please feel free to contact our customer care department at 800.434.3750 for any additional questions or installation tips. We would be happy to assist you!

Can I put them over my tiles already on the wall?

Asked by: rongbmm
Hello rongbmm and thank you for your question. You can install these tiles over existing tiles as long as the current tiles are clean, flat, smooth (glazed, porcelain-type tile; not porous or textured) and dry. The surface needs to be free of dust, wax, soap scum and grease. Any damaged or loose tiles should be secured first. Additionally, large grout lines may need to be filled in for proper adhesion. Best wishes on your project.

Dirty between gaps

I am trying to decide between this tile and same size ceramic tile. Will there be gaps between glass tiles that may get dirty? How would I clean it if yes? For gaps between ceramic tile, there will be grout. Bottom line, does it get dirty between gaps?
Asked by: italgirlNYC
Hello and thank you for your question. If you clean the glass tile regularly then dirt should not get in between the tiles. The glass tiles do not require grout and do butt-up next to each other. If dirt or anything else were to get in between the tiles you can take a glass cleaner and some paper towel and clean the substance out that way as well. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 800.434.3750. Thank you and have a great day!

Can the tile be placed over a flat laminate backsplash?

Can this tile be placed on top of an existing backsplash made of laminate (one solid sheet)? If so, does anything need to be done to the laminate surface to help the glass tile stick?
Asked by: KTTT
Hello! Thank you for your interest in our products. Aspect can be installed over a smooth, flat surface. If installing Aspect over existing ceramic tile, be sure to thoroughly clean old tiles, but priming ceramic tiles is not required. Use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol two-cloth cleaning method as surface preparation when applying tiles to a nonporous substrate, such as ceramic tile or metal. Please feel free to reach out to our customer care department at 800-434-3750 for any additional questions at 800.434.3750. We would be happy to assist you!

3 in. x 6 in. Glass Decorative Wall Tile in Morning Dew (8-Pack) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This stuff looks great but if cannot be as mentioned... This stuff looks great but if cannot be as mentioned here, a flat surface is CRITICAL. I even had a talented handyman resurface my backsplash to be completely flat but even THAT wasn't enough- a couple of tiles are wiggly. Wondering if regular tile might have been best?? This stuff isn't cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install, looks great! I did not realize this were stick on until I received them but that just made their installation as a backsplash that much easier. They rest on a 1 to 2 mm foam back with a peel off film that facilitates their easy placement on the wall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nightmare tile We bought 13 boxes of this tile in Sunlit Meadow. My husband installs tile professionally and typically uses grout. We were skeptical about the peel and stick so we followed the directions exactly. Regrettably, our fears were warranted. Each day for the past 2 weeks they've been falling off the wall one by one. A couple hit our new stove (that we haven't used yet) so we had to cover it to prevent damage. If I could post pics here I would. I wrote the company last week and have yet to receive a response. I gave it 1 star because the color is beautiful. But don't be fooled! Save your money! We're going with acrylic now. Aspect can keep their tile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Attractive, easy to do it yourself product Color matched the photo on the web very well. I worried that it would be more yellow than green. The instructions tell you that you can cut product with small glass cutting tool. This, I found out was impossible to do without breaking glass tiles. I took the ones I needed cut to Ace Hardware where they did a great job while I waited and charged me 50 cents per cut. I would have had the cutting done by Home Depot but was told that they did not do that service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a Great Decision to use this product. If you plan the install, have a level and actually use the level, this is a GREAT Product... Caution, once it touches the wall you can't change your mind so lay it out prior to installing. We had a fabulous, meticulous result. We will use it again...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ver y Good Purchase The area in front of the chairs was constantly being scuffed and requiring repaint. This installation cleared up the problem completely with a distinctive black glass background that matches the room decor. The tiles were easy to install and even thought the installer failed to center them exactly...it worked out just fine.
