Assembled 24x30x12 in. Wall Kitchen Cabinet in Unfinished Oak is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 134.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for DIY bookcase builtins I used these as the base cabinets for a builtin bookcase in my office. Turned out great and would use them again. I used a high quality paint which makes a big difference when painting.

We wanted additional storage so we demolished a small pony wall and mounted the cabinets on 2x4 rails. The cabinet fronts are unfinished oak, which we stained to match our existing cabinetry, an easy project. With some additional carpentry our new storage wall is just what we needed.

This basic cabinet is pretty study and heavy since it is mostly particle board. The center panels were loose, so they rattled when the doors closed. I assume these panels are floating for expansion/shrinking, so the gaps were shimmed to reduce the rattling. The recessed areas above and below were not laminated (unlike the other size I bought), so the finishing work is not consistent. I used this cabinet as a shallow base cabinet, so these unfinished surfaces were not a problem. The shelving clips hold the shelves very securely into the cabinet (the shelf is already installed). The shelf is sturdy and easy to remain clean as well as the interior of the cabinet. The side panels which are purchased separately are cut-to-size fit correctly edge-to-edge. These panels were not flat, so contact adhesive will be less work compared to clamping using wood glue. The hinges are easy to remove and re-install, and have alignment adjustment. I plan to stain and clear finish, but have not done this yet, so no comment for finishing the surfaces. Overall, the cabinet is pretty good substitute for one that may be two to three times the cost, especially if the cabinet will be painted.

The cabinets are fine, the delivery was not: three tries (wrong truck/damaged cabinet/wrong address), lies and excuses for the ten days delay, stayed twice at home all day for nothing - for a delivery after 6pm (never called before 9am as promised), fights between "The home Depot" the store and "The Home Depot" the website which "are not the same company" we were told. We purchased 3 cabinets, tied them together, installed 3 short legs and a top and we have a long and narrow credenza for about $1,000 as opposed to the $4,000 estimate from the Home Depot designers to create the same thing from scratch.

Pros: Has a decent oak frame finish which responds nicely to staining, but requires some additional sanding. Shelving keepers lock in shelves securely, (maybe too securely making shelf removal a challenge). Overall cabinet construction is what accounts for the 3 star rating. Cons: The hinges are not a good design and do little to enhance door position. (I see that the patent is still pending on the hinges). The biggest complaint I have on the hinge is the choice of screw used to attach the hinge to the cabinet frame. The pan head design fits nothing made in America, and is for some reason a different design than the screws which attach to the doors. Some of these screws simply cannot be removed. Those that can should be replaced with a regular PH2 or star head design.

The overall quality of the material is cheap though (being its a 36" cabinet for under $100). You have to be gentle moving it around because the cheap press-board will crack, flake, or separate if you handle it roughly. Its not oak, pine, or other more durable wood. My wife really liked that it was unfinished b/c she had the option to paint and finish after it was on the wall if she changed her mind.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great cabinets for the price, with caveats Good quality for the price, except for the back panels. They are attached with staples. and are not secure. I ended up dismounting my wall cabinets. adding nails to the back panels, and reinstalling. Nail the back panels in place with trim nails BEFORE you install. Not a problem with the small wall cabinets or base cabinets. Also, Glue the side panels on BEFORE you stain. the stain made my panels warp, and were IMPOSSIBLE to glue down. I finally tore them off, bought new side panels, and reglued BEFORE staining them. None of these are terrible things, but would have been nice to have it right the first time and not do all the extra work.

First coat raised the grain so much we had to sand it down nearly to raw before we could paint again - therefore took three coats to cover well. Doors were a bit uneven and rubbed at bottom, so we had to sand it down so that wouldn't be a problem w/open and closing. Very heavy - so be careful to secure carefully to studs when hanging.
