What Drill bit size is needed for stucco/concrete walls?

Asked by: jmsmaster
I used the Hilti brand 7/16 CX Bit for my rotary hammer. It will go thru some of the metal you encounter than is under stucco over concrete block. I used the 1/4 inch bit first as a pilot hole. Works great.

can these be used on stucco over wood frame?

Asked by: Mickey
I have a client that has these all over his $3 million house that is stucco over wood... It's real stucco on mesh, not the styrofoam stuff. I did not install or sell them, he is my client for other reasons.

Deluxe Fastener Anchors (150-Pack) is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are all metal anchors that draw into the concrete... These are all metal anchors that draw into the concrete surface. They do a fine job but I wouldn’t use a power drill to set them. I tried and it nearly broke my arm when the anchor bit in. I would use a ratchet wrench with an allen bit to screw them in flush. They go in very easily

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wish there were alternate sizes the anchors and screws themselves are good, but an odd size. We had much difficulty finding the correct size drill bit for concrete. Even the HD store did not have it.
