Customer Questions & Answers

my fan is making a lite rattle nuise

Asked by: tyio
its one of the motor bearings. Had the same thing happen to a fan of mine. Problem was that they no longer carried it and couldn't replace it. The Fix: buy another fan, swap out the motors. Hunter's quality has really gone downhill from about 6 or 7 years ago. They are still better than most of the competitors though. No decent fan manufacturers anymore.

Customer Reviews

Augusta II 52 in. Indoor Antique Pewter Indoor Ceiling Fan with Light is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ceiling fan! We purchased 2 of these fans. The price was good & I had seen good reviews. Liked the coloring also. Was a bit concerned that it only accepted 40watt bulbs for lighting, but in our bedroom there was plenty of light. We put another in our living room & the bulbs didn't quite put out enough light but I think that can be changed by using a different bulb. What we were most impressed with was the stability of this fan. Even on high speed, that chain hanging down is barely moving! Also very quiet. Highly recommend!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value, nice looking fan I bought four of these units for each of my rental properties. Installation is relatively easy if you remember to install the metal fan blade brackets BEFORE you install the light kit. The fan blades can be attached to the brackets while the unit is mounted to the ceiling fairly easily. The fan is quiet and can move a fair bit of air. There is a limiting adapter built into the light kit assembly that only allows for a 40 watt bulb maximum. If you use anything greater than 40 watts, the limiter causes the lamps to flicker. In addition, the limiting feature did not allow me to use the light with a dimmer switch. I found out that there is a way to by-pass the limiting adapter so that the bulbs can be used with the dimmer. While the fan took a while to balance, the instructions and enclosed balancing kit made it fairly easy to do. All in all a very good fan at a great price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mis-advertised I ordered this fan looking at the last picture - the silver metal and dark wood with the 60w bulbs, and even in this description, it said total of 240W. What we received was the first picture item with a max 160W. So this description is not clearly done. The description is off. We ended up returning it and getting a fan in store that was 240W. Be mindful of the wattage and what you will get is the first picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Fan! I had previously bought a different fan from another manufacturer for my bedroom, but it was really noisy. I got it exchanged but it was still too loud to sleep under (humming and ratteling). Then I bought this fan and put it up. I LOVE IT! I can sleep soundly as it does not make any noise other than the fan blades moving the air around. Install was a bit hard, but well worth the work. I highly recommend this fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from purchased 2 fans my husband and i were in your store a couple weeks ago and a nice young woman helped us find exactly what we were looking for, she was patient and told us everything we needed to know about the fans and how to install properly for our ceiling height. we will be back if we have anymore lighting to purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fan for the money This fan is great for the sale price they featured. Installation was easy. No more difficult than any other in my opinion. The fan looks great. My only real complaint is the wood grain finish on the blades is extremely fragile. When reading through the balancing instructions, (and you'll need to balance) it says to mark the blade that balances best with the clip. I used a piece of paper and scotch tape to mark it. When I pulled it off, the wood finish came with it (it's just a thin laminated paper). Other than that, fairly pleased.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Misleading description I bought this fan for our living room, which is a really large room. I chose this particular one because of the blade length - or so I thought. Item description for this fan says the blade length is 52" and is for a large 20x20 size room. So when it arrived yesterday, I was more than surprised when I took it out of the box and it is smaller than the fan we have in our bedroom! It is a nice fan, but is definitely NOT for a large room - the blade length is 2' or less. So I guess we'll put it in another bedroom instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice air flow. Quiet. Easy install. Finish is a little too dark. The installation was a breeze. Mounting bracket was easy to place. Predrill your screws into the stabilizer hole of mounting brackets is recommended as the directions doesn't say this but this lets you know the screw goes in smoother during install. Tilt fan into place. Connect wires. Screw in stabilizer holes. Attach blades. Attach lighting fixture. Test fan and light. This fan gives off great air flow for a large room and is fairly quiet for that amount of air flow. No ticking noises from it. You do need to add some pulls for the on and off switches for the light and fan.
