No, the grill can not accomodate an ash catcher.

It is a charcoal grill... that should be enough to answer your question.

Can you buy replacement grates for this grill?

Asked by: Linda
Yes, but I can tell you that in 13 years I have owned two of these grills and have never had the need to replace them. I do not overload the grates and as a matter of fact when I discarded my first Aussie, I saved the grate and still have it as a back up.

does it have a rear adjustable vent as in the front of grill?

Asked by: burnit2times
The vents are useless in controlling temperature. The grill never gets hot enough in full-throttle. It's worthless IMHO.

While I was able to use the grill, it was great. I think the size, price, and everything about it is a great value. My only complaint was it lasted me just about 1yr before the bottom fell out. I literally mean the bottom fell out. It started getting rusty, and holes would develop. Nets thing you know I have a 15 inch diameter hole inthe center of the grill where's it just fell apart. I live in Florida so no winters. I do keep it outside, but I basically got a year of usage out of it. While it was in one piece, I was very happy with my grill. I would typically grill on average one to two times per week since I purchased this grill year round... Hopefully my experience is not typical with this grill, but this it what happened to me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just average Awkward to fold up, and while there are two air vents, one on either side of the bottom of the grill) there's only one damper. So you can't actually control the temperature or extinguish the coals when you choose. Which makes its portability... pointless. Good for hot dogs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You Get What You Pay For... Very happy with the price. However, the paint on the lid bubbled and blistered with the first charcoal fire tonight. So... the paint job is junk. Be careful not to let it bubble and flake onto your burgers. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Getting Ready For Number 3 I have owned 2 of these in the last 13 years and am about to get number 3. Common sense and a decent cover is all you need for maintaining these grills. I do not use pre soaked charcoal because it burns hotter than hand soaked coals. Keep in mind I use a grill in the summer at least 2 to 3 times a week and cook an average of 1,000 lbs. a meat per summer. These grills are great as long as you just keep them covered when not in use, and do not store them out in the elements. I have had to repaint the tops on each one of them but when I repaint them, I wet sand them and use high heat automotive engine paint. For the money, I will not buy or use any other type grill, however I don't use these as a smoker, I have a Brinkman for that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad for price This is a decent grill but keep it in mind it's not $100 or $150 grill. Yes you may loose some key features such as thermometer and hinged or handle grate. But it does good for a grill at this price. Had mine just over two years and is holding up. I use it to cook chicken pork ribs and even low and slow pork butt. I made a 10.5 pd. Pork butt for many hours but it is a bit of a challenge with no way to access the coals without removing everything but with the little patience it can be done and may I say all I cook comes out great..So if you want a grill to use without spending a lot go for this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! I used this grill at a summer rental house. I loved the direct charcoal heat. I used the available gas grill and the Walk-a-about and everyone agreed that charcoal food tasted better. When I got home, sold my gas grill and went to Home depot and got a Walk-a-bout. I tell everyone don't buy a gas grill. No running out of gas, no iffy tank connections (do you smell gas?). I have been using my Walk-a-bout for 3 years and it is still GREAT! I love it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cooks well enough but.. We got this grill specifically for Tailgating. My husband really liked the folding legs and how well it rolled. It cooked well the first time we used it. Unfortunately, when we went to roll it to the car to go home, the whole middle of the larger bottom handle broke off in my hand leaving 2 jagged stubs behind. I thought we could just use the top handle to move it around but that doesn't work at all. I'm very disappointed.
