Customer Questions & Answers

How did I get this item repaired?

I have had this about 4 years and don't have the receipt.
Asked by: Anonymous
Home Depot was kind enough to exchange 2 for me but #3 is sitting in shop with a kinked cable. I was unable to secure the MFG Warranty but I did try. Each of mine only worked a few times successfully then went south. I believe the manufacturers web site has a way to send in for repair estimates but you may find the cost leaves you needing another unit unless it is something small like a switch.

Very, very doubtful. It does not have a cutting head typically found on larger, 4-inch sewer pipe machines. There may be accessories available per an additional purchase that would make cleaning roots possible, but only on smaller diameter pipe.

can i get it in 50ft cable length

Asked by: Anonymous
The fixed length is based upon the 5/16th. cable size and housing dimensions. And you would not want a longer length with this device as the cable kink and crimps when extended making it useless. The best thing you can do is rent a device from Home Depot (I do) for sporadic use or get yourself a slightly larger device with 1/2"-5/8" cable. Despite the fact that equipment cost more, it will be cheaper in the long run as you get much better performance and it will last longer.

I tried everything to open the bathtub drain, including calling plumbers who only partially opened it. This machine completely removed the blockage. I am a widowed woman, I had the drain completely open in 15 minutes. Money well spent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saved my time & money I called my plumber to fix but he is not available before two days. I go and grab this tool which makes my life easy. It is excellent tool. The drawback is you have to hold and press the whole time. You need thick glove.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good.... Earlier reviews are correct. you have to squeeze handle hard enough to break your hand, in order for the snake to move forward and backward. Better off renting a better tool..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pricey but works It does not differ much from using a manual auger with a drill attachment. It has the word 'auto clean' but that is a bit of a misnomer because the machine needs a lot of hand holding. You must manually insert the snake and back it up when there is twisting. I personally could not figure out how the scrunchy tube worked and left it off. It allowed more line to go down the drain and the back-up in my kitchen drain was about 20' down. Got the clog cleared but it took 2 hours and I used Drano to soften the clog. I wish there were more cost effective options. Upgrading from this model is a big jump in price. Pros: 1) efficient and built-in motor 2) small and easy to store in a house 3) works but requires effort 4) works best for small drains with clogs that are within 6' of the surface Cons: 1) expensive 2) a manual snake with a drill attachment does the same job 3) small snake diameter (1/4" just does not cut it) 4) begins to wane past 15' or so and does not spin very well 5) only one attachment (the bulb) while the pricier models have 4 or more
