Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by VallejoGirl Pricey but works
It does not differ much from using a manual auger with a drill attachment. It has the word 'auto clean' but that is a bit of a misnomer because the machine needs a lot of hand holding. You must manually insert the snake and back it up when there is twisting. I personally could not figure out how the scrunchy tube worked and left it off. It allowed more line to go down the drain and the back-up in my kitchen drain was about 20' down. Got the clog cleared but it took 2 hours and I used Drano to soften the clog. I wish there were more cost effective options. Upgrading from this model is a big jump in price.
1) efficient and built-in motor
2) small and easy to store in a house
3) works but requires effort
4) works best for small drains with clogs that are within 6' of the surface
2) a manual snake with a drill attachment does the same job
3) small snake diameter (1/4" just does not cut it)
4) begins to wane past 15' or so and does not spin very well
5) only one attachment (the bulb) while the pricier models have 4 or more

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Arby Quick Resolution to a Backed-up Sink
After the purchase of several jugs of drain cleaner and a 1/2-inch round snake that wouldn't fit around the 1-1/2" diameter plumbing pipe bend, this machine was purchased. The machine's 1/4-inch round snake easily made that corner and the stoppage was located about 20-feet down the pipe. After running the snake back and forth several times at that location, the blockage was removed.
Took the extra steps of removing the plastic cone head off of the unit, allowing the snake to be removed. Everything was completely cleaned and wiped dry before easily reassembling the unit. Machine should be ready the next time it's required (hopefully not for a long, long time).

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cfia425 Switch dosent work
The air operated foot switch is garbage. Air leaks out of it so within minutes it is completely compressed and will not start the machine until I take it apart so it can refil with air. The machine is great but the switch makes it unusable.
Is there a fix for this's problem?

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sharp Very easy to use.
This auto drain cleaner is very easy to use and work great. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stairs is I only used it twice but it worked great both times.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lawrence Works great, but make sure you buy a new one!
Bought one the night before Thanksgiving, it was the last box on the shelf, the box looked sort of beat up, but I was desperate to clear the kitchen drain line. Thanksgiving was coming.
After opening the box on Thanksgiving morning, its very apparent the unit was used, the hose is dirty, the snake is corroded/encrusted in spots, the plastic hose had a crack on the rubber attachment and the bottom of the box has water stains. Of course the documentation was also missing.
After getting over the feeling of feeling like an idiot for buying a used drain cleaning, it was fairly easy to figure out how to use the unit and get my drain clog cleared. Aside from being "used", the unit is pretty nice, sufficient power to crank the snake and small enough to it into the under sink cabinet. The remote foot petal is a nice idea, probably more useful for bathrooms than being hunched under the kitchen sink....but it was nice to be able to activate the motor using my knees to press the foot petal thing.
If this were a brand new unit, I'd be totally thrilled and giving it five stars.
The beat up box should have been a clue that something was up with this item. (yeah, i'm too trusting, just thought it was sitting on the shelf for too many inventory cycles and got beat up by handling.)
Looks like I'll be spending black Friday at Home Depot trying to get a refund or some
kind of partial refund for getting an used/damaged item. I can't believe someone used this thing and somehow returned it to Home Depot and it got put back on the shelf.
Like I said, if this were in "new" condition, I would give it a 5 star rating.
Wish this thing were around when I was a kid, its a definite improvement over the hand crank units.

I am a loyal ridgid customer, I have always trusted your brand.
You guys make the best tools out there for plumbers. I am though, very disappointed with the product. I invested a few hundred bucks for this machine it worked extremely well for about 2months and now the cable will not feed in or out. And of course I cannot return it for a new one. I feel ripped off and abandoned by a company I have always trusted. What a Shame.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Martin Works on small clogs or kitchen sinks
The concept seems ridgit and looks like it will last you forever. So much good stuff about it.
Price to high !
Heavy when you hold it in your hands for long period 1-2h puts significant strain on hands .my hands are hurting even 4h later.
You need both hands to hold the machine, you can't feed the snake with one as you need to hold to auto feeder. The problem with Auto feeder it takes forever to push the snake in. I had truble knowing how much of it went in the pipe , and still didn't reach clogged spot in pipe. Once the cable came out completly, 25feet and no way of knowing it.
After working on 2 sink drains and then taking toilet out . Pipe still clogged called Rotto Rooter $250 and 20min later pipe cleared.
Might be good for homeowner clearing kitchen sink or bathtub but way to Much $ for home owner.
