Customer Questions & Answers

how does the wringer function work? I can't get it to work.

Asked by: housecleaner
You hold onto the handle, then grab the wringer assembly and push the wringer assembly down. It should force the sponge to bend at middle and squeeze it dry. If it does not, check for anything preventing it from doing so.

How should I attach a grey scrubber strip to the mop

Please advice how I should attach a grey scrubber strip to the mop. It goes apart from the mop even in the idle mode.
Asked by: Jacob
That is a problem. When I hold the head flat on the scrubber with extra force, it stays in place.

What is automatic about the HDX Automatic Sponge Mop?

There are no directions in the package.
Asked by: Richard
Perhaps because the sponge automatically springs back into place after moving the handle grip upward?

The (2) fasteners do not screw on tight to hold the mop in place. Are they suppose to?

Asked by: Sharon
Yes, they are supposed to screw on tight enough to hold the sponge on.

Automatic Sponge Mop is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worse mop I've ever had This mop is the worst mop I've ever had. I purchased 3 refills when I bought the mop. The screw tabs that hold on the sponge refill have never worked properly. They constantly fall off. I have kept the mop longer than I should have because I wanted to get good use out of the refills. The screw tabs fall off while rinsing the mop, they fall off when I squeeze the sponge and they fall off while I'm mopping. Today after I use the sponge only on my hands and knees to mop, I will then take great pleasure in going outside and beating this mop into a million pieces. I would never recommend anyone buy this mop! I will give it one star because it does resemble a mop.

The sponge fell off the mop head ten minutes after I started using it. It appears the cheap, molded plastic screws aren't designed to hold up to any stress. I should have guessed that at the store when I noticed half the mops had missing sponges. The little scrubber strip has to be attached separately, but the plastic "hooks" that hold it in place, don't grip very well, so the strip fell off almost immediately. Of course, now that I've used the mop, I can't return it (no guarantee). Can you say "waste of money"?

Interestingly, it didn't break when I was using it to clean my floor, but when I was giving the mop and sponge a cleaning at the sink after finishing my floor. The plastic bracket that holds the sponge component cracked, making it obsolete and no longer usable. Lesson learned - you get what you pay for! Pay a little extra for a better-made mop is my advice!!!!

First time I used it the sponge came off, plastic nuts that hold the sponge to the mop stripped right out. And the gray scrubber does not stay on the mop, also came off almost immediately. A throw-away toy, not a real cleaning tool. Going to return it.

Mine was clumsy right until it broke. Everyone supporting the quality must be a shill. It's a true disposable land fill product. For $10.00… buyer beware.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broke after using 4x I was actually excited when I first got this mop. It worked great the first 4x I used it! Then I went to use it again & it broke. I went to push down the lever which folds the mop head sponge together while it's supposed to squeeze the excess water out when a plastic part snapped & broke. That part is not fixable. I'm just glad I haven't yet bought replacement sponges for this or I would be out that money. It's disappointing because the rest of the mop seems sturdy. It must be a design flaw. I'll attach photos of the broken area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Best Sponge Mop I just love it and someone was just thinking like someone who actually cleans. What I like the most about this sponge mop is its size. It is the perfect size for quick daily clean ups and it fits in a small corner out of the way. This sponge mop is about half the size of regular sponge mops and it folds in half to squeeze out excess liquids just like the full size sponge mops. I just love it! The only shortcoming is the quality. It is a bit lightweight, appears a bit flimsy, and the scrubbing pad doesn't stay put. If this sponge mop was made stronger with a better scrubbing pad attachment, it would be excellent.
