Product Overview

Utilizing Avallon's exclusive InvisiMist drain technology, this 14,000 BTU portable air conditioner liberates you from ever having to drain an internal reservoir again. As warm air and humidity are normally associated, this portable air conditioner (PAC) is engineered to remove up to 86 pints of moisture from your air per day. In many cases, the unit's self-evaporative function will expel the majority of air moisture. However, in high-humidity environments, self-evaporation is not enough. Excess water accumulates in the internal reservoir and, to prevent itself from overflowing onto your floor, a PAC will automatically turn off. This can happen at any time and will require you to manually drain the PAC. The InvisiMist system solves this problem. Consisting of an internal drain pump, a water line and our InvisiMist nozzle, the system automatically turns on when water accumulates and safely disposes of it through the easy-to-assemble window kit. This unit is more powerful than other 14,000 BTU PACs, cooling your space up to 40% more quickly because of its dual-hose air system, which separates intake and exhaust, allowing for more air intake and cooling power. The three adjustable fan speeds allow you to customize the unit's operations to suit your cooling preferences. Included casters enable you move this PAC to wherever you need it, and the included remote with LED display allows you to easily change operating settings from anywhere in the room.

  • 14,000 BTU cooling power chills rooms up to 525 sq. ft.
  • Includes 3-piece window kit that will fit into windows ranging from 20 in. - 46 in.
  • Exhaust hose measures 5 in. Dia and can extend to 49 in.
  • Electronic controls with digital display and remote control included
  • Equipped with 4 casters for easy maneuverability
  • Low noise level of only 52 dBA
  • Auto restart function stores your settings so that in case of a power outage, the unit will pick right back up where it left off when power is regained
  • Backed by a 5-year limited manufacturer warranty

We have casement windows.....will it work with those?....or a sliding glass door?

Am interested in purchasing the product but need to know if it will work with casement type windows or a sliding glass door?
Asked by: Curious
Casement window is no problem. The only limitation is hose length. The sliding glass door is a little tricky. You will have to add a filler board to make up the difference. Be sure to block the door for security.

Do window screens need to be removed if using the mist feature?

May seem like a silly question but I haven't seen an answer anywhere yet. My HOA is a stickler about these kinds of things. Would I need to remove/raise my window screens to use the mist feature of this unit or would they interfere in any way?
Asked by: TooMuggy
I do remove my screens - I don't want the mist stopped by the screen & therefore building up in my window encasing, causing the wood to rot. A possibility might be custom screens that have openings for the hoses to fit through.

14,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner with InvisiMist Smart Drain Technology is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 64.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for One Room in Apartment - Has Saved Me this Summer - Happy Camper in So. Cali. It works well for me. I live in Santa Monica, CA and don't need but for some sweltering & humid nights that are impossible to sleep during. Nobody here has AC in the old apartments, so I finally gave in and got his. I am very happy. I can now sleep at night or just relax during the hot day if needed. The dual hose system is the key! I like the remote and you can turn off the light that lets you know what mode it is in for sleeping. I sleep with it without a problem, it is no louder than the fans I use. It does shift into different modes throughout to regulate the temperature which is awesome you won't get too cold, or too hot. The window kits did NOT fit my window at all. I made them but it did take some time so prepare for that. I used heavy cardboard and some bubble insulation with lots of duct tape and it fits perfectly and actually blocks all outside air (the one that came with it was not insulated and there was room for air to come in around the hose). I had to order a furniture dolly ($20 from Home Depot) to take it from my car to the elevator, and then to my apt and room. But it was easy to move the AC with that, otherwise I could not have done it alone. I am a petite older woman, so it can be done without anyone else to help you. I would say to buy it, it will cool off your room and let you get on with your life!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from best portable ac I've founnd Fairly easy to set up - but! Measure the window you're going to use & check to see if you need to have a panel of the window adapting kit cut to fit! Comes with 3 panels, 2 solid, one for the 2 hoses to attach to (and the openings can't be blocked, so allow for them when measuring!). I ended up putting my first unit (I just bought my 2nd!) in a different window than I had originally planned, because I needed it up & running ASAP and it wouldn't fit. Now I have a set-up for two different sized windows, and extra panels available to customize the fit for a 3rd (yet another size!). I'm planning to get a 3rd one for next season - with my house, having 3 will work best. My favorite feature is the misting spray: I work long hours, plus I have disabilities limiting what I can do physically, so not having to empty the accumulated water is a major plus!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Got my second one and it quit working just like the first one did. These units take a tremendous amount of current to operate for the few minutes they did run. The 2 I have had would trip a 20 amp breaker after about 10 minutes of run time. The reset on the plug with both units did not function. If you look at the back of the unit where the inlet hose connects you will see just below this connection the back of the unit is open up to the hose! This "inlet" hose is just decoration not functional at all. Home Depot has been great through all of this. I think its time to try a different brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from hard working AC I have a 2000 sq foot shop in a metal building with moderate insulation. Before installing the AC, inside temperatures got to about 5F less than peak outside temp. This application is asking the AC to do about 4X what it was designed for. With it running all day, the shop is now about 5-8F cooler than before, and the humidity about 10% lower. It blows 55F air out the vent, which is about all you can ask. Before when it was 100F outside and 45% humidity, inside the shop was 95F and 45%. With the AC it's now 89F and 35% humidity inside. That's a big difference to me. I only considered dual hose units, as single hose units use conditioned air to cool the condenser and blow that outside. Well, duh, if I wanted outside air sucked into the room I'd open a window. Single hose units have NO ADVANTAGE over dual hose that operate more like a split unit. You can always make a single hose installation out of a dual hose unit by simply not using the intake hose. BE AWARE, some manufacturers sell dual hose units that are actually 2 exhaust hoses and no intake. That's the same as a single hose unit with a bigger hose. Yes, I am an engineer nerd.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked for two years, now need repair In less than two years the fan wheel broke. The unit is not even moved around it stays in same spot during the winter months and only the vent is removed from window. Not worth the $500 I spent for it to last less than 2 years. Also, having trouble finding a place to repair portable A/C units. Also, not energy efficient if you dare to purchase be prepared for your electric bill to increase dramatically.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A vallon portable A/C This ac does not work. After lugging if up stairs and setting up the window configuration the un'it blew cold air for 20 seconds and then warm air I tried everything the troubleshooting guide suggested to no avail. I called the manufacturer 2 times and after being left on hold for 10 minutes each time was xferred to a message system. I left 2 messages and no one ever called me back. I am returning ut.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I'm sure there's a better unit The unit comes in a well constructed container. The unit is heavy. Approximately 75 lbs. The window install kit and hoses are well constructed. Installation is easy with few tools needed. I live in a 800 sq ft studio. On 90 degree days it cools off the studio in short order. It is loud. At the low fan setting I measured 54 db at 1 meter. The unit may have 3 fan speeds but the exhaust impeller runs at a constant speed. The fan function is quieter, 46 db at 1 meter. The fan does move a lot of air. I haven't used the dehumidifier. There are side to side directional air louvers but they are non-functional. The remote is a bit strange. It's battery operated. Detaches from the unit. The unit does not have a function panel. All functions are from the remote which doesn't have much range.
