We bought this as a beverage cooler, not for wine. Hence, it keeps drinks not quite as cold as we would like. (46 degrees). Other than that, the construction and function is fine.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WineLover Returned it after a few days!
Took it home, plugged it in and filled it. Temperature variation from the bottom wine rack to the top was about 6 to 7 degrees. When the top shelf was about 58, the bottom was about 51-52, the bottom being much too cool for storing wine. Raising the temperature to compensate on the bottom then raised the top shelf temperature to the mid-60s, much too warm. Thanks for Home Depot return policy!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by NapaGuy Good cooler, but not for everyone.
This cooler (Model SWC2801) looks nice, is a great size and is very energy efficient, It's a superconductor type system that goes to a maximum of 30 degrees f. cooler than ambient air temps. This may not be adequate for some people. It is not intended for cabinet or enclosed installation. It needs air (at minimum 5 inches back and sides - open air) and it puts off heat to it's surroundings. Not whisper quiet by any means and the LED read out of temperature is so bright, I have black tape on it.
If you want a quiet, cabinet installable wine cooler, go with a compressor style cooler. If you want the lowest electrical usage, this model works. It's inexpensive yet seems well made and uses the latest cooling technology, which unfortunately, may pose problems for some owners.

We had been searching for the right size wine cooler for a spot in our kitchen for quite some time. Most of the other models and brands were either too small or too big. Finally, we came across this one. We did our research, read all of the reviews (both good and bad), and decided this one would work for us.
We had it shipped to the local Home Depot store, and we picked it up. Unfortunately, that's when everything went wrong. When we got the cooler home and took it out of the box, we discovered that it was dented in the back. Not wanting the hassle of returning it, we thought that no one would notice since the dent was in the back. So, we put it in place. Then we noticed that the door hinge cover and the top of the door were cracked in the front. In additional to that, the temperature has steadily increased from 54 degrees to 62 degrees all on its own.
Regardless of the hassle, we will now have to return it. We're not sure if we'll ask for a replacement or just start searching for another brand.

Was damaged when I recieved it. Must have been dropped while still in the factory cause with all the packaging that surrounded it, there's no way the dent it has could have occurred while in shipping. Very disappointed they would ship an already damaged product.

This machine doesn't cool below 60 degrees, even if you set it at the min temperature (45 degrees)

Great fridge. I got this as a 2nd fridge. I like how the extra long 13.25" California Cabernet bottles fit in this cooler without taking up extra space. Advertised holding 28 bottles, 28 California Cabernet bottles fit nicely! This is light, under 50 lbs, and I was able to carry this out the store and save on shipping.
Some have complained they plug it in and it doesn't get down to desired Temps, the trick is you have to like break-in the unit, run it several hours without bottles in it. Then it will register correct temps.
Only negative is if you place this on a thick carpet, the door might not open freely, even after adjusting the legs, so I just slid a piece of cardboard under the legs and that solved the problem.
