Answer:
Yes, this is best used for crosscutting wood in a 12" miter saw. It is designed to make fine crosscuts on trims, moldings, and other wood stock. This type of blade is typically capable of cutting other materials as well, but you should check the manufacturer's literature to be sure of these details.

10 in. x 40-Tooth General Purpose Saw Blade is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Treat yourself Treat yourself and think about your saw blade. I bought my tablesaw about 20 years ago and, 2/3 of the way through ripping down 1X realized the saw had the original blade on it. Something I just never thought much about. My next trip to HD, I added this to my cart, came home and installed it and, voila! I actually was able to cut without trouble. Do yourself a favor and change those old blades! Next trip, my chop saw gets a treat!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value This is a good quality saw blade for the price. Although not as good as the higher price and quality Diablo blade it performs well for general purpose work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blade bought this blade for some wood shelving, it performed beautifully. I then had a need to cut some 1/4" Plexiglas, I had my doubts it would work, but after experimenting a bit I found it cut the Plexiglas smoothly, requiring little touch up. So far the blade remains sharp. (of course the blade is not designed for Plexiglas so would not recommend anyone try this, especially if the Plexiglas is thinner than 1/4")

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Basic In stock 10 " blade A cheap 24 teeth 10" blade was kicking back too often when ripping pine on my saw table, leaving a nasty finish but mainly it scared me. My older 7" 42 tooth wouldn't cut right through a 2 x 4 when on the sledge. This 60 tooth one doesn't kick back (yet) and the resulting finished cut is better. I'm a very light user so I don't know how durable it will be. Only time will tell.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good buy... Bought these blades to replace the rip blades that came with my miter saw and table saw. Works ok in the miter saw but in the table saw they vibrate so bad the table saw walks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice blade for the price I needed to cut some vinyl handrails, and needed a smooth cut. This blade worked great. I might have chosen a more expensive blade if I had a lot of cutting to do, but this gave me good cuts at a reasonable price. Good value.
