If you prefer. However the odor was not as strong as some other epoxy based finishes. Good ventilation is key.

Answer:
The 3M Particulate N95 Respirator With Valve work very well.
REMEMBER: Vent as much “negative” air as possible and have plenty of “positive” fresh air coming in, that's the best way to do it!

Answer:
I would recommend one, as the paint does have strong fumes. I bought a standard 3M model for use when painting - somewhere around $25.00

Answer:
YES, The DIY kit can be sprayed using an HVLP spray system. The only product Not included in the kit is the reducer to thin the topcoat. Thinning will be necessary for spraying as well as for cleaning your gun. Lacquer Thinner can be used which can be purchased at the local Home Depot store.

Answer:
Hi Brian,
YES, as a matter of fact you'll have enough material to two (2) coat your Claw Foot Bathtub! Remember, we recommend our EZ Etch kit for any Cast Iron, Steel, and Ceramic bathtubs, tiles, floors, and sinks.
Thanks for asking!

Answer:
Hey Reggie,
YES, It is non-slip (slip).
Remember though a soap film (soap scum) on the bottom not cleaned regularly will make ANY area feel slippery so we recommend not letting the soap set- a couple cups of water to rinse it down after each use will go a long way! Thanks..

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by time will tell The kit was nice as included gloves, tray etc., and appeared to be a good thick coating. Application was tricky as recall instructions saying should be applied thickly. I attempted to apply as such but ended up with dripping in several areas. Called the company and spoke to someone who was very helpful and offer option was to order a repair kit costing about $39.00. I haven't gone that route yet. Time will tell how long it holds up as it has been less than 2 months. Refinishing is tedious work and there are several restrictions with regard to care, but costs less than hiring someone. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! It worked great. Sanded and applied over another refinish kit that had yellowed. Get a couple of extra little rollers like other reviews suggest. Ventilate area well. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Product This stuff works!! Easy to use, just follow the directions. You MUST have plenty of ventilation though, as the product has a very strong odor for several days. The finished product looks wonderful. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great customer service! Read the instructions carefully and follow them. The non-slip works well and is not cosmetically noticeable. The white is very bright and looks great. It may be impossible to apply perfectly due to the awkward contortions necessary, but overall it covers discolorations excellently, sticks like glue, dries shiny and sure beats the cost and labor of a new tub. Preparation is key as in all these projects. (Oh, and make sure you don't confuse the labels and use the catalyst for a primer!!) August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product The prep work is a bit tedious, but it came out as I had hoped. Make sure you have good ventilation as the fumes are pretty strong and can be really irritating for about 12 hours. It looks like a new tub now. June 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nearly Flawless Execution I was very apprehensive to try and refinish the bathtub myself, but figured it was work a try. The worst that could happen is that I would need to hire pros, who would remove what I did anyway. As it turns out, the product was very easy to use and overall - I am very happy with the results. The only reason I did not give the fifth star was because I discovered that the one 4 inch foam rolling applicator that came with the kit was not. The adhesiveness property of the paint is so good that the foam on the roller started to shred off, leaving little flecks embedded in the painted surface. The it got progressively worse as the paint became more solidified. I would recommend that you buy a few extra 4 inch foam rolling applicators to use as the first roller starts to disintegrate. I think HD sold 2-packs for $3 and change. September 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product but color not quite white Overall this is a great product. The instructions were clearly written and very easy to follow. It's a lot of prep work but the overall results are well worth the extra effort. I once had an ugly blue tub and with just one kit it was completely transformed. I only gave this 4 stars for two reasons: 1. The included brush started to break down and leave little pieces in the tub. If you're going to include everything needed in the kit, include a better quality brush that won't break down. 2. The color is not really white. It's more of a bone white but not true white. The tiles in my bathroom are pure white and the tub does not match. Better than the blue but I did expect pure white (or at least a mention somewhere that the color is not quite white). I even checked the materials after I was done to make sure I ordered the right color. However, even with the cons mentions above, the product is great and was easy to follow. Make sure you wear a respirator and open the whole house for fresh air. March 10, 2016
