These lights have a good color, low energy usage, and let off low heat. They are IC rated which makes me feel better since I have blown insulation in the attic. My only complaint are the flimsy metal tabs that keep the light in place. But once it's in I don't think they are going anywhere. I'd definately recommend and I'll be buying more for the hallway.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by dgoud Great compared to others
Don't know how the other reviewer calculates his utility bill but 4W consumption versus equivalent 35W GU10 is pretty good to me. Not has bright has a 50W but very nice white color versus fluorescent which is blue and halogen that's yellow.
Saved me also the pain to add a metal box for insulated ceiling. So in the end it was cheaper than the promo 6packs.

I too could not understand the review that said it would increase electrical consumption. I am baffled at that comment, and would also like to know where he gets his calculations from. Our home is 100% LED and super low electrical consumption. These lights are great in the kitchen and bathroom for putting light where it's needed. Also, the IC rating saves much effort and money on installation.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by ConfusedinCalif Nice light BUT
The light is nice and after all was installed... I find out that it can not be dimmed. Big surprise... hence the three stars. Wish they would have made this clear now I find different bulbs that dim and spend more what it would cost to just buy it this way. Dimming is clearly an important feature for these small lights are bright and are meant for soft off-set lighting.

I have not installed it yet but I received it and took it out of the box to inspect. It's not built super tough and it's not designed to be constantly re-aimed. Install it and aim it once and don't touch it and it will work. Led lightbulb is standard and can be replaced when it burns in 10 years or whatever. If you check at the store currenlty the price of lightbulb which is included is more than the price of this recessed light with light.
