The can is labeled 4 years, though my application on a flat deck had the stain pealing, ineffective and ugly within the first year. I am going in to see if they stand behind their 4 yr warranty.

I used a sprayer on our fence, had some runs, (my fault), first time working with the new sprayer. I did brush some along the house on one side, but used cardboard on the other side and was able to spray.

Answer:
Hi there Rosnbrg,
The Transparent Weatherproofing Wood Finish requires 2 coats to be done, and your second coat is to be applied thinner than the first coat.
The cure time for the product is 72 hours, so I would recommend waiting at least that before bringing in heavy foot traffic. Do not apply the product if it's forecast to rain within 24 hours of applying the product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Deck Stain I bought a 5 gal bucket of the Behr stain for my new deck . I picked the cedar color an it turned out great . Wow , I would recommend it for anybody July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best yet My deck is 5 years old and has been stained every year. This is the best stain I have used to date. Goes on thick and penetrates every Crack and crevice. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EXCELLENT and SUPERIOR Stain for exterior stain The Behr Cedar Natural Tone Transparent stain is a great product to use on existing cedar and redwood. We used bleach to lighten the wood, then applied the stain in two coats. The results were outstanding and beautiful. It gave the wood a vibrant color that restored our patio cover and pergola to its original luster and beauty. Thank you. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Deck Wood Finish This product is very durable, easy to apply and easy to clean up. My deck looks great! August 28, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not as good as traditional stain The water-based Behr products for decks have been disappointing to me on several decks over 8 years. Areas of the deck that get rain and snow look terrible after only one year. Behr has been very good at replacing product and sending strippers and cleaners, but who wants to completely redo their deck every spring? May 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Get the "weatherproofing" instead of this one Do not get this. Get instead the "weatherproofing". There is a HUGE difference in color. This one gives you a sickly yellow color. The "weatherproofing" gives a great cedar color. February 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our cedar siding looks wonderful now! We would recommend this product to anyone needing to revive and protect their cedar shingles. We love the natural cedar beauty and this product allowed for the natural grains to remain. September 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surprisingly Good! Great color and compared side by side with two other all in ones has great sealing properties while maintaining a uniform color. I did not use a pore sealer on odd lot fir and it looks fantastic!it started raining immediately after application and stayed in place just fine. Expect it to be tacky until it cures.
