Answer:
Hello Hewitt,
Thanks for your interest in Behr paint. Applying our products to a bathtub might not give lasting results. Our testing doesn't support our coatings going on areas that have this high of a moisture exposure, so we'd recommend against applications on bathtubs and showers. You might check with Home Depot for another brand's coating that may be suitable. Best wishes!

Hi Texas2000!
Thanks for writing in, and great question! The Alkyd Enamel Paint is designed for both interior and exterior use. This means, it has UV protection and dries to a hard enough shell to stand up against the elements. The finish is also easy to clean without scuffing, making it ideal for interior projects as well. Hope this helps! Best, Jeanette P.

Answer:
Hi Mc!
Great question. Although it's not necessary to sand between coats, it would be okay to do so if you are experienced with the technique. Nevertheless, the Alkyd paint is known for it's exceptional flow and leveling, so I think you'll be happy with the finish. Hope this helps, and good luck on your project! Best, Jeanette P.

Answer:
Sure, I've lightly sanded between coats sometimes. But it has a very good leveling properties and is rarely needed. If you are painting furniture, only roll in one direction, don't roll back and forth for best results.

As far as thickness, this product has a viscosity of 85-95 KU. We've found that it's the right consistency to be applied with an airless sprayer as long as the tip size is 0.013-0.017" and there's a 60 mesh filter. Thinning is not recommended, even for spraying. Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alkyd is Amazing! As a professional painting contractor, I have used many paints over the years, from just about all the suppliers. I started using the Alkyd for interior trim and doors about a year ago and fell in love with it! What a great finish at an affordable price. Wish it was here 10 years ago! thanks Behr! Rated 5 out of 5 by from best ever for wood trim The woodwork in my house was stained. I wanted to paint but was having difficulty getting acheiving that smooth glossy look of oil paint until this product was recommended to me. Its amazing! It self levels and dries very hard giving my woodwork the look of oil. Best paint ever! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from experience with 3900 Tried many different brands of latex enamel trim paint, all same--brush marks and surface that easily came up. Tried Behr Alkyd enamel--Oh Boy!---goes down easy, has just enough sag where majority of brush marks disappear as the paint dries and dried surface is hard and durable. Takes a little bit longer to dry than latex, but results are worth the wait. Clean up is the same (with water). I'm using white 3900, which is more of a light cream-Would like to know if Behr makes same in more of a traditional bright white. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
