After a failed start due to some bad info I got from Home Depot, I was recommended to use this paint for my kitchen cabinets. After priming my outdated brown laminate cabinets this paint went on great. being impatient I waited about an hour before applying my second coat (which went on with no issue) and after 2 hours actually placed the cabinet doors back on (and applied a 3rd coat). I am sure if I waited the recommended 4 hrs between coats I would have needed only 2 coats. This is a great paint, leveled off amazingly since I was worried about brush strokes and dried really fast.
I only gave it a 4 out of 5 because the curing process is taking a bit longer than I like. It's completely dry but hasn't hardened enough for me to put the hardware on the doors yet without scratching the paint.
I recommend this paint for cabinets!

I am painting my bathroom cabinets. I prefer an oil based finish but because I can no longer find oil based paints any where I decided to try out this product. I find it a bit tricky to use. Wish it could be thinned down a bit because it is hard to get a thin coat and continuous strokes. I sanded, primed, applied 3 coats (waiting 24 hours before applying each subsequent coat and then waited 7 days before applying hardware and reattaching the doors. The styles had cured about 2 weeks and the paint was still soft and caused some chipping when attaching the doors. I am happy with the overall look but still prefer an oil based paint. It dries much harder. Latex is rubbery and takes a long time to cure once dry to the touch. I really do not see the difference from using a regular semigloss latex paint.

Tried many different brands of latex enamel trim paint, all same--brush marks and surface that easily came up. Tried Behr Alkyd enamel--Oh Boy!---goes down easy, has just enough sag where majority of brush marks disappear as the paint dries and dried surface is hard and durable. Takes a little bit longer to dry than latex, but results are worth the wait. Clean up is the same (with water). I'm using white 3900, which is more of a light cream-Would like to know if Behr makes same in more of a traditional bright white.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Britt86 Great Trim Paint!!!
This is the best trim paint I've ever used! A little thicker than traditional latex paint, so it doesn't drip at all, I used an angled brush to apply to trim/baseboards/door jams, although you see the brush marks while painting it does seem to level out as it dries and they disappear. I did have to do 2 coats, but it was well worth it. The finished look is perfect and feels very durable, definitely washable/scrubbable. I plan on doing my kitchen cabinets with it next! Love this paint!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Try the 3900 alkyd
The 3900 alkyd is a very nice paint- coverage on trim with even a brush lays down like it was sprayed!
same with a micro fiber roller - lays down by next morning like it was sprayed!
sprays very well on soffits and facia and best of all this stuff sticks -adheshion is excellent
I even tested it the first time I received it from the behr rep by painting a stained and varnished luan door without sanding and it was stuck to it. Great product period!!

I have just finished painting a metal black patio. I used the Behr gloss paint in a fab green. The Table looks better than when it was purchased.
Such an enhancement with the newly planted colorful annuals.
