I am painting inside brick fireplace. Is this paint safe to 200 degrees?

I am painting inside brick fireplace. Is this paint safe to 200 degrees?
Asked by: JaB
Hi JaB, Thanks for writing in with your question. We would not recommend our products inside a brick fireplace. If the surface gets too hot to touch, then it should not be painted with our coatings. I hope this information helps. Have a nice day! Regards, Giovanna

I am painting concrete block building. 14,000 sq ft. has been painted many years ago. about how many gallons needed

The data says I do not need a primer. Some sections have not been painted, new blocks. Is this true/ I pressure washed the building already. it is clean. 2 coats needed. I am using Behr Masonary stucco & brick Satin Deep base 282.

Hello Steven1124, Thanks for your interest in the Behr Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint. The Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint is self priming on clean, well prepared surfaces and at least 30 days cure time on new masonry surfaces, such as the new blocks you mentioned. Please refer to the product label for proper surface preparation and application instructions. The Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint is designed to cover up to 250 - 300 sq. ft. per gallon. For a 14,000 sq. ft. project, you'll need at least 10 five gallon containers . You'll need to double that amount for a 2 coat finish.

Customer Reviews

1-gal. Deep Base Satin Masonry, Stucco and Brick Interior/Exterior Paint is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Paint for Concrete -Allow 2 days for dry time The paint was great on the bare concrete but I did not read the directions. The day I painted it was 70 and sunny the next day it rained very hard and the paint on the bricks washed off. The next day the dogs brought the paint in on my new carpet but it did clean off easily with soap and water. I only put down one coat and when weather permits will try to apply a second.
