I've used Behr Solid Color House & Fence Wood Stain several times on my 30yr old PT pool deck, lasts 4-5 years before needing restain. Minimal scraping needed followed by a good wash & rinse, then 1 thin coat on verticals and 2 thin coats on horizontal surfaces. Brushes on easily with excellent coverage, but don't apply in direct sunlight or it will dry before you have a chance to spread it. Behr says "DO NOT USE ON HORIZONTAL SURFACES SUBJECT TO FOOT TRAFFIC" so may not work so well on a heavily used deck but we're in the snow belt and it doesn't get heavy use. I think the key to its great performance (no peel) is the oil-latex formulation, allowing it to penetrate & grip, not just lay on the surface like a 100% latex formula. The finish is flat, not as nice as the Premium stain which is satin, but I'll trade longevity for looks!

I color tested two samples of BEHR Solid color wood stain and two of the Rustoleum RESTORE wood stain on my deck this summer. When I power washed the deck before begining, the samples of the RESTORE came off easily but the BEHR Solid color wood stain samples didn't budge. Needless to say, I went with the BEHR and 6 months later, it looks as fresh as the day we applied it. Thanks BEHR!

I have used this product for everything in my yard. From Barn, to Fencing, to Pergola and, Patio furniture. It has lasted so well that I would not consider anything else. I have been a user of this product ever since I purchased my first home back in 1971. We are now in this last home for 29 yrs. and have only had to refresh the stain but not because it was worn out. It is a time saver and I have recommend this to anyone that asks. Even when I have someone else stain something for me I demand they use Behr's wood stain.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MKrog nice and easy coverage
This product worked well on our gazebo, deck furniture, and wood play structure. Product was think enough to provide excellent coverage, but thin enough to spread easily. The color was more orange than anticipated based on the color swatches, so I would go with a more brown tone next time. Thankfully, I won't have to worry about the 'next time' for several more years.

This stain works well to stain and seal rough wood siding, decks as well as concrete blocks. It does have an odor though as do all latex based stains and paints. Outdoors, it isn't too noticeable. Lots less of an odor than oil based stains however.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dano1 Sold on Behr/ First Time Use with Fence Paint
This was a First...Use of Fence Paint that is ...
I recommend Behr every chance I discuss paint. Now, you may ask how often is that, now that I'm retired. It's quite frequently. My two sons run a business- Boesken Bros. Their Business covers a lot of ground mainly doing remodeling, PAINTING, decks, tree removal, and on and on.
This brings me out of retirement to do some drywall and PAINTING, when they need extra hands. Just like last week. I enjoy spending time with my sons and still get to pass along the knowledge my father gave me over the years.
I say all that to say this: on the home front, I purchased Behr fence paint to do a large fence project on the front of my property. I knew my wife would be happy if I put up a white picket fence across the entire front yard. I bought three (3) gallons to get me started. So far, I'm still working toward putting up the first section.
It's not for lack of trying. I'm supporting my family on Social Security; so, sometimes I
have to wait for the next month's check to squeeze a couple bucks out for supplies. I had
a couple projects jump in front of my painting project. First, my neighbor's horse kept coming into my yard and he wouldn't do anything to help with the situation, So, I had to put up a horse fence at the cost of $700.00.
Next, I built my large German Shepard a very large dog horse. I did paint it with the fence paint. To give you an idea of the size, I used a whole gallon on the dog house.
