Answer:
Pretty much all stains can be applied with a sprayer. For best results, one should "backbrush" as one sprays to ensure the finish gets in all the cracks and crevices and to get even results.

Answer:
Yes I used a spray gun which worked well on railings, but beware of product. My stain on the my deck is peeling after less than one year.

Dear Paul,
This product can be applied with an airless sprayer using a .015 - .019” tip. A high quality pump sprayer can also be used for this product.

Answer:
Hello sissy77,
We appreciate your interest in our wood stain. Yes, it is suitable for pressure treated wood. First, though, please wait the typically recommended 6-8 weeks for the injected chemicals to air out (or check with the wood manufacturer or vendor for the exact timeframe). Then, we recommend cleaning with a product like our No. 63 Wood Cleaner.
Best wishes for your project!

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 38 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not a stain, it's a paint actually If you want to "paint" your fence and you metal posts, go for it. This is not a true stain, it's a paint because it contains an acrylic binder. It will forever ruin a nice cedar fence and will destroy the appearance of cedar. It is very difficult to apply, requires much more than the instructions say, and is extremely expensive compared to true fence stains. If you have a pine or spruce fence and you want it painted, use it. Do NOT use on cedar. I am a contractor and pay $55 per 5 gallon pail less for true, good stains. I would never use this at my house or a friend or family, junk, just like everything Behr makes. July 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best go to choice! I have always used this product on my deck and it always looks great. It resists staining and dirt and lasts as long as stated. March 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good stain I tried Valspar on my cedar sided home 20 years ago but after 5 years had to re-stain. I chose Behr the second time and the stain has held up to our mountain climate very well. House stain at 15 years looks great - will need to re-stain decks this year. April 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beatiful Finish I love this stain. It's very easy to apply and blends very nice with the grain. It truly enhanced the beauty of the wood and it's just a bonus being waterproof. I won't have to worry about bubbling or bleaching. It looks beautiful on my garden fencing. February 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All my cedar projects look GREAT!!! I build a lot of rough and smooth cedar projects; fences, lattice, pergolas, decks, furniture, outdoor cabinets, and more. As a professional, I demand a quality finish that my clients ooh and aah over. Behr Wood Stain does just that! Its easy to apply and clean up is quick. Best of all my clients call me back to do more. I've used Behr products for 15 years and never had a bad experience. Definitely I would recommend Behr. February 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fancy Fence Staining I would definitely recommend this stain. Color was great, retains color for years, and price was better than the rest. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product We have always used Behr paint and decided to use the stain on our fence this year. It looks awesome. Easy to work with. Goes on great! September 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Product! I used this product on my brand new cedar deck last spring into summer. Even though I preferred the natural cedar look, I chose the semi-transparent option over the transparent option because it supposedly was going to last three years. Well it barely lasted a year. The stain is peeling off all over the place. I put on three coats around the pool area because two coats wasn't cutting it and it's still peeling. I first used a paint sprayer, then a roller and finally a pad. On the main deck, there are two coats so far and it peeled over the winter. The only place it's not peeling so far is on the railings. I followed the recommended steps, used the Behr wood cleaner and painted only in the shade. Extremely disappointed in this product!! Wasted so much time and energy and I'm going to have to do it all over again and it's a pricey product to have to paint every year. March 24, 2014
