Besides this one being $130 and the other $166. I am staining a long privacy fence and the price will make a big difference with the amount of gallons I have to purchase.

Answer:
Hi Brad,
Thanks for writing in, and great question! Unlike the Waterproofing Semi-Transparent Wood Stain, the Premium Weatherproofing Semi-Transparent Stain is a higher grade product that has nano-guard technology. This allows for a tighter bond and offers stronger protection against the outside elements for up to 8 years on fences. Hope this helps, and good luck on your project! Best, Jeanette P.

Answer:
Hello alex,
We appreciate your question. This product is both a waterproofer and a stain for the wood it covers. The semi-transparent finish will allow some of the color of the wood and the wood grains to show through. Well wishes for your project!

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 121 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to apply color matched perfect. Covered pretty much in one coat. There were a few spots that I had to go over more than once, and that was either due to over exposure to the sun or wood damage. October 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesnt Dry Thought I would try oil based finish as I thought it would be more durable. Wrong! I used it on new wood but it didnt penetrate at all. Applied when warm but wont dry. Now I have a sticky mess October 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible I would have gave it 0 stars , but allow it .Worst product i have ever used . We have to stain our wood deck every year , should be done twice a year , they could give it to me and i wouldn't use it . ONLY USE AN OIL BASE STAIN FOR OUTSIDE USE !!!!!!! October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product I ended up going with the solid color stain because my porch has older wood and the transparent wouldn't cover previous paint splatter. This would be the reason why I only gave it four stars. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great color for outdoor Built 5 wooden benches for outside and stained them with Behr Waterproofing stain and they look great! Getting lots of great compliments on the color and benches. Also, used it on a pergola, looks great. October 5, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by behr redwood stain Ok, not as good as the 5 to 8 year stain. Sort of thin. September 13, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not a stain, it's a paint actually If you want to "paint" your fence and you metal posts, go for it. This is not a true stain, it's a paint because it contains an acrylic binder. It will forever ruin a nice cedar fence and will destroy the appearance of cedar. It is very difficult to apply, requires much more than the instructions say, and is extremely expensive compared to true fence stains. If you have a pine or spruce fence and you want it painted, use it. Do NOT use on cedar. I am a contractor and pay $55 per 5 gallon pail less for true, good stains. I would never use this at my house or a friend or family, junk, just like everything Behr makes. July 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst deck stain ever! I used this product to refresh the stain on my deck floor when I ran out of another brand and could not find it again. Within 2 weeks of application it was already wearing off the traffic areas of my deck. One month later, it looks like I never touched it. The rails that I had done with the 2 year old left-over stain are fine, but the areas done with the Behr look like they did before I even applied it. What a waste of my time & money! And I almost forgot! This stuff doesn't water proof either. Rain soaked right in just like the wood was not treated. Water never even attempted to bead up. November 19, 2015
