can masonry paint be used on drywall? I am painting the garage wall where the dryer vent is located. The moisture makes regular paint peel off.

Hello KC,
We actually would not recommend our Masonry, Stucco and Brick paint on drywall. It is only designed to adhere to concrete surfaces.
Best wishes

Hello Bumpie,
We appreciate your question. It can be tinted in up to 300 custom colors and color matching is available with it too. It's self-priming, so it can cover darker colors without the use of a separate primer.
Well wishes for your project!

Do plaster interior walls need to be primed?

I'm having an addition to the house that will have plaster (yeso) on the walls instead of sheetrock. I think of plaster as a type of masonry, but I'm not sure. Of course the plaster is smooth and sanded, but I'm wondering if this paint would be good on plaster and NOT need a primer coat, or would I be better off using another paint.
Thank you

Hello and thank you for your question. We suggest that you use an interior paint such as BEHR PREMIUM PLUS ULTRA® or BEHR MARQUEE® for your project rather than BEHR® Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer:
Hi Homeowner,
While this product states it may be used on the interior, It is primarily an exterior paint. I would use Behr Premium Plus interior paint for your walls.
Plaster is a masonry product and is porous, for best results you should use a primer/sealer on it prior to painting it.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst paint ever This is the 3rd time I've painted the exterior of my stucco house white. The 1st with Benjamen Moore, the 2nd with Valspar both with no problems and one coat. This stuff simply does not go on evenly and is very visible in certain light, even with a 2nd and 3rd application. Some of it may be due to the Behr primer underneath but not the whole wall! I've been happy with Behr interior but this stuff sucks. I guess it's for flipper contractors that want to do a slap on job. July 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Compliments from Neighbors on Quality of Paint Job It is one thing when we stand back and marvel at a good DIY job on your house. It is something else altogether when neighbor after neighbor and others in your housing development offer up unsolicited, genuine comments. I remodeled and repainted the entire outside of my 1980s ranch style stucco finish FL home using all Behr paints. I used Behr semi-glass ultra pure white for the trim; it brought it back to life. I used Behr Exterior Satin Enamel Autumn Tan to cover fiberboard over the garage and window trim. For the stucco finish I applied Masonry, Stucco, and Brick paint medium base in Sandstone Beige to cover a soft pastel pink that covered the entire house. I even dared myself to get creative and painted an "accent" stucco wall with Autumn Tan in Stucco paint. The stucco finish only required one coat; I used a very rough surface roller cover which worked ideally getting into the nooks and crannies of stucco. The fiberboard surfaces took two coats since the boarding was brand new. Due to the remodeling and repainting I have had several neighbors who have said that the paint job stands out and in all I updated the house 20 years to the 2000's. Now, my next project: my ranch style clapboard style house in NC. I already bought the Behr paint for inside and outside. Road trip! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] June 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible coverage, too inconsistent between containers I bought one gallon of this paint over Memorial Day weekend to test the coverage. It covered about 150 sq.ft. on a fine finish stucco. It's half of the claim on the container (250-400 sq. ft), but at least I was prepared. I then bought four 5-gallon buckets to finish the job. The first two buckets rolled on as expected and covered some hairline cracks nicely. Sadly, everything went downhill with the third bucket. When stirring it, it was noticeably thinner than the other two buckets. I started to roll it on and it wasn't covering nearly as well. I checked the fourth bucket and unfortunately it was the same as the third (both of these had the same batch numbers). The coverage dropped down to ~80 sq.ft., PLUS I had to coat it twice just to match the texture of the first two buckets. So, their coverage went from a claim of 250 sq.ft. down to 150 sq.ft., then down to 80 sq.ft. and requiring two coats (so covering only 40 sq.ft.). I went back to Home Depot and told them what was going on. They replaced the two 5-gallon buckets for me, but it's still the same terrible coverage. These were new buckets that were still wrapped on the pallets in the overhead storage area. I'm not sure if this just happened to be a bad batch or if the quality went down that much on their most recent paint. Either way, I highly suggest avoiding this paint. I'm now stuck in the middle of the job and will need to buy more paint just to make up for the lack of coverage, plus I have to roll on twice as much. Not fun! June 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Huge pitted and ridged Masonry wall..? I was recently faced with the task of painting a 90 ft wide wall by 20 ft, very pitted and ridged. I was thinking I would have to cover this wall at least twice possible three to four times. I picked Behr's Masonry, Stucco, & Brick paint. Amazingly, using a very thick roller, I was able to cover in one coat. This paint goes on thick and smooth, and has awesome covering power. I needed to only touch up some of the deeper pitting. You can see in the photo how deeply ridged and pitted this wall is. I had only one issue with Behr regarding this paint. I had another project that I wanted to use this paint in a satin finish. You can not buy 1 gallon cans in a deep tintable base either retail or online. Behr this is a wonderful product....Please make it available in 1 gallon tintable deep base, satin finish.. Online it is always pre-tinted., and it is not available retail. September 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product and quality for an unbeatable price! I'm a master painter of trade and have been using several products throughout my +30 years of experience. I have been using this particular product from Behr for the past 8 years. I have been using it for exterior stucco, brick and masonry and it bonds really well and has an end result I'm looking for as a professional. Not only does it bond well on these surfaces, but with exterior work and overlapping wood work, it seams to perform well in this matter too. I even used it on my own house and after 7 years....It looks great!! Behr have been a brand for quality and serve me well as for the convenience for me and my business. Dumb Up for this one and good luck with your project!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] May 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Behr Stucco Paint First of all, I received a nice rebate on the 5-gallon pail. Thank you Behr. The paint went on nicely, cleaned up easily and looks great. I'm ready to start another section of my garden wall. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] September 18, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A None Drip Paint Purchased paint from Home Depot on a Special Order. Although the staff knew very little about elastameric paint and 3 trips and several calls to and from the store and a order mix up. I did get hooked up with BEHR rep and he was able to help me meet my deadline for my truck. We used this paint on a custom stucco home in Eastern Washington State. It is amazing. Very little drip resulting in no waste. It is thick. This is a blessing. Frankly, we have several rental properties and we only use BEHR products. We learned our lesson a long time ago.
