The last time I painted my ceiling using a different brand of paint, I primed it and after 3 coats later, I still saw blemishes. I tried this Behr Matte finish and one coat, no priming, and my ceiling looks pretty darn good. I like the color and its' dull like finish so the lighting doesn't reflect off the ceiling. I'll paint my walls with a slightly darker version of this color now. The paint applied well with my roller as well as with my brush. There was no stinky paint fumes and I cleaned up with soap and water. This paint is the answer to this rookie's painting problems of the past. I highly recommend this paint.

This is the first time I painted the house in 16 years. The color it came with was a flat white and easily got dirty. The Almond Butter color was an excellent choice for our home and the Marquee paint in Satin really stands out. I did not want to struggle painting a big house and that is why I chose this one in particular because it advertises ONE coat application. For the most part yes it took only one coat but there were times I had to go over it a few times with the roller. Of course my wall has some texture and others could have a different experience. I am happy overall and do recommend this paint.

When I opened this paint and went to pour it into my roller pan a thin dried clump of paint fell into my container. Makes me wonder if the paint sat on the counter for awhile at HD. The paint is thick, sticky and wants to roll up on itself. Once dried the paint peels off!

Puchased this paint after the sales person said it was guaranteed ONE COAT. Over the years as the family handy man I've never seen one coat paint and I was truly skeptical. After prepping the walls in our kitchen(why use expensive paint and not follow directions? ) I did notice the paint was thick and smell wasn't to bad. I didn't skimp on brushes and rollers. I started to cut in the room and quickly learned it is not like other paints I noticed a slower technique was best to allow the paint to adhere. Not to slow cause it does dry rather quick. Rolling the walls was the same don't roll fast and try not to stretch the paint. There is a learning curve with this paint once you catch on it really saves a lot of work. It's been two weeks after painting our kitchen and I can say It was ONE COAT and the wife is happy. I've also painted two rooms for my mother and the more I use this paint the more I like it.

Oh how I wish I had read these reviews prior to purchasing this paint. Behr Marquee is SO hard to work with. As other reviews stated, it dries so quickly that it leaves ridges and ripples as you go. Don't dare go over a spot you've already covered, as the paint will peel and drag. I tried a thicker application with a brush. Initially I thought I had won, only to find the paint dripping 10 minutes later. Now it is so sticky, it's eating a high quality brush. This is like smearing chewed bubblegum on the walls! When it's dry I'll have to sand down and start over with another paint! Such a waste of time and money.

I purchased the Behr Marquee in the exterior satin to repaint my steel front door. I also purchased a gallon of Kilz 2 primer and applied a coat of that first since I was painting a barn red color on the door. After applying the first coat of Marquee, I'll be lucky if I only have to apply 2 coats. Very poor quality. For $41 a gallon, I expected a much better paint. I will never purchase the Marquee again and should have read the reviews first before making my paint purchase.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MJPainter HORRIBLE! Terrible waste of time, money and effort.
This is truly a horrible product. It absolutely does not cover in 1 coat. It takes two coats using the roller and 3 for doing any cutting out with the brush. Thick and difficult to apply considering it doesn't cover well the first couple of rolls and if you keep rolling over it it starts to really act up and looking bad. The paint starts getting a film right in the roller tray while you are using it as if it is drying faster than you can apply. Then when you apply the paint it starts leaving gooey clumps because of the film. Removing the paint and trying to touch it up really makes a mess. And I was painting in a 75 degree air conditioned bathroom. I have used the Behr Premium Plus Ultra paint everywhere in the house and have loved that paint. That is what I requested this time but the clerk incorrectly gave me Marquee so I went with it. I now have to go back for another gallon for the second coat. But I will go for the cheaper “Premium Plus” version since I have already used this Marquee paint as a very expensive bucket of primer.

Paint went on easily however 2 weeks after walls were painted, I noticed small ( and some not so smal) raised chips in the paint. After touching it, I noticed the paint is actually peeling from the wall. It's peeling off in large pieces like rubber! Very disappointed. This paint is very expensive and now I will probably end up repainting with a different brand. Walls were prepped as instructed and paint still peeled right off. I wish I would've read the hundreds of reviews online for this same problem.
