Thanks for your question. When using Marquee, the brushes can be cleaned with a little soapy water; no need for solvent. Hope this helps! Best, Jeanette P.

Answer:
Hi steve,
Yes, our Marquee Exterior Satin Enamel can be used on aluminum siding. We recommend scuff sanding the surface and cleaning it before painting to promote the best adhesion. Your first coat can also be used as your primer coat to help lock in any stains on the surface. Any additional coats will build up color and uniformity. Good luck! - Sara

The house we are painting is very old and has been painted with lead based paint on the exterior.
We are thinking to pressure was and brush off the loose particles of paint and wonder if covering with the Behr lead cast satin enamel exterior paint will cover the existing threat of lead base paint.
Please advise

Answer:
Hi 1DeterminedDonna,
Thanks for writing in! Although Marquee Paint can be applied over the lead based paint, it will not seal it. "Lead Cast" is the name of a Marquee color. Furthermore, it's highly recommended to wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure while sanding, scraping or removing lead based paint. 1-gal. #MQ3-19 Misty Isle Satin Enamel Exterior Paint is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 110.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Exterior Paint I've Ever Used I have used the Exterior Marquee since it came out, and It's hands down the best paint i've ever used on the outside of a home. The best part is the dirt an dust resistant finish. I told Ed (my Maui Behr rep) about how much I loved it, and a few weeks later, I was called for an over the phone interview for an article in the Home Depot Contractor's Magazine which is circulated on the East Coast. they published my pictures of my project and everything. I am a very happy contractor!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional Recommended Behr Marquee is truly an amazing product that, in my professional opinion as a painter with over 30 years experience, is a product significantly better than any of the other name brands while being more economical at the same time. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marquee Paint is THE BEST This paint applies easily, covers in one coat, and lives up to its claims. We live in the country where there is a lot of dust. we couldn't be happier with how this paint covered and has worn on our house exterior! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest Paint job that I have ever done. I used this BEHR product to paint our Summer Cottage. It went on very nicely using an airless sprayer. I used 7 gallons and was very impressed with the coverage and consistency of color. My neighbor was so impressed that he used the same product on his Cottage. I would recommend this paint to anyone who needs to complete a paint project. There as no need for primer because it is included in the Paint which makes for a faster time to complete the job. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Paint I've Ever Used Behr Marquee is absolutely phenomenal. The paint goes on well and flows like an oil base. Brush strokes blend smoothly. The paint covers well and I've been able to successfully lay down only one coat most times. This paint sheds dirt like no other. I don't know what's in it, but dirt just wipes off. This paint is expensive, but considering that much of a paint job is the cost of labor, this paint actually saves me money. It takes less time to apply the paint and there's less damage when cleaning. The durability is good and the paint looks great! I highly recommend using Behr Marquee Exterior Enamel! Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST PAINT EVER!! Don't waste your time & money. 1- Extremely impossible to do touch-ups with. 2- Leaves horrible roller/streak marks on EVERY wall! 3- Total waste of money and time! We are professional painters and own our painting company; we have used Behr premium paint a few times and have liked working with it. We had a 2500 sq ft house to paint, so we decided to give the Behr Marquee paint a try, since it was one of the best quality paints the HD rep said, what a huge mistake!!! To start off we bought 13 gallons total of Marquee paint, in 4 different colors. (3 bedrooms, painted a different color each, and a gray color used in all the main areas of the house). Walls had a very light orange peel texture. We worked on one wall at a time, with one painter doing the ceiling cutting with a brush and around the trim, doors that were taped off, and another painter rolling the walls behind him. There were streaks marks in every single wall that we rolled; we tried doing a 2nd and even a 3rd coat, on some walls, to no avail, the roller marks were still everywhere! No, the roller wasn’t dry, it had enough paint! Brand new 9” roller with 3/8” nap was used. We tried 3 different rollers and nothing made those horrible streak marks go away, it was impossible not to notice them! As anyone knows it is very hard to roll wall after wall without having to do a few touch ups, well the Behr Marquee CANNOT be touched up at all! After the paint had dried we tried to do a few touch ups and that looked even worse than before! You can clearly see the few areas were we tried to fix what was needed, touch ups looked a different sheen with lots and standing 10 ft away you can spot the touch ups that were done. So, what did we have to do to fix the many issues we had with this paint? 1- We had to go back and repaint a few of the rooms where we had used "Behr Marquee" with Sherwin Williams paint, because the streak marks and touched up spots were awful! 2- We spent twice as much money because of the paint we had to purchase to repaint. 3- Time is money! We spent about 3 extra days in that house because of the issues with having to repaint not just one room but a living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, master bathroom, 2 bedrooms and a hallway. (Almost the entire house! The other rooms we just used Sherwin Williams paint from the start, didn’t even bother with the Marquee) 4- We had 4 gallons of Behr Marquee that we didn’t use because we started noticing the issues before we had used them, now they are wasted money. I don’t even want to give away the paint because I know what a hard time people will have with it. Needless to say, we are very, very disappointed in your paint! We expected Behr Marquee to be of much better quality then what we got (we paid $40+ per gallon for it). We WILL NOT use this paint ever again and will make sure that all our painter colleagues and friends know about the bad quality of Behr Marquee so they don’t make the same mistake we made.
