Hello Buckbaby,
We appreciate your question. Our Marquee paint can be applied to existing oil-based paints, but typically those types of coatings are slick or glossy. If that is the case, then we'd recommend lightly sanding to roughen up the surface a bit. Then, after wiping off the surface with a damp rag and allowing it to dry, you'd be ready to paint. Answer:
Hi Sharon!
Thanks for writing in, and great question. I'd recommend using the satin finish. This pearl-like film will protect better against the exposure to moisture, and is easier to clean than lower sheens. Hope this helps, and good luck on your project! Best, Jeanette P.

Answer:
Hello Kar,
Great question. We would not recommend adding floetrol to our Marquee. We recommend using it as is. However, if it’s being sprayed on, you can add up to 8oz of water per gallon.
Best regards,
Kevin

Hello connie,
Great question. Yes, our Marquee in the color MQ4-59 Purple Gladiola is available in a satin finish. If it's currently not available online, then you can also purchase it at your nearest Home Depot store.
Best regards,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best paint EVER!!! I went to the Home Depot hoping to find something to either remove or cover this gosh awful dark blue wallpaper with ducks on it in my step-daughters room.... Well one of the guys suggested Behr marquee, said it's a bit more pricey than the others but trust me, it's worth it! So I bought a gallon. Let me tell ya, Can't see that wallpaper anymore!!! And her room is white with a *kiss of pink in it. One Coat was all it took!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Like a Charm! Goodbye Horse Covered Vinyl Wallpaper! I convinced my parents to purchase this paint as I had seen the advertisements for the "One Coat Coverage." We were attempting to paint over a very busy vinyl wallpaper that covered the kitchen walls in my parents' older but newly purchased mobile home. Although this paint is a little spendy, it does exactly as it says. It covers in one coat! Even on vinyl wallpaper, it adhered and covered well. I can't honestly say that another type of less expensive paint wouldn't do just as well after several coats, but to be honest, my time is worth more than that. One coat coverage with this paint is the way to go!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rock Crystal Not Really Grey.... I was pleased with the paint in general, the Marquee is fabulous, it would've gone on in one coat had the person helping us paint done a better job. We only had to touch up the walls he painted. My biggest complaint was the color. We purchased "Rock Crystal" which is classified as a grey. The sample card looked grey, however once we got it up on the walls it was more of a purple. The fault is on me for not buying a sample size to test, but just wanted to warn others. This not grey, it is a light purple with some grey in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One coat is right! I love Behr products and that's all I've used for many years. When we moved, the new-to-us house hadn't been painted in years and the family room was a horrible orange-gold color. I used a very light colored Behr Marquee interior paint and it totally covered in one coat. There was not even a hint of that ugly color. I was amazed at the coverage. This is now my go to paint for ever more!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good paint, not 1 coat coverage I was very skeptical about 1 coat coverage. I had purchased the same type paint in a different color a few weeks prior. It was almost white covering dark paint. I have to say I was impressed. I painted a 2nd coat due to uneven coverage, which I'm sure was due to my painting. The most recent purchase did not go very well. It was a medium yellow covering the same dark wall as the above mentioned. 1 coat, horrible. Thought a 2nd would do the trick like the other ones, nope. I did a 3rd, and you can still see inconsistent and different color & coverage. I was just finished after that. Luckily some furniture covers the front of that part. The rest of it looks great though!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not 100% sold I just used this paint for the first time in my bedroom and bathroom. The paint is thick and does dry very quickly. Unfortunately, I don't believe the coverage is what I was expecting. The color looks lighter/darker in different areas and I see roller marks in certain areas. I'm hoping that completing a second coat will help get a more even coverage over all. I also noticed when I cleaned a spot on the wall in the bathroom the paint wiped up when rubbed with water and a paper towel. I can now see a spot of the original color I was covering up. Again, hoping another coat will help. The depth of color is absolutely beautiful though. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One Coat Coverage...NOT We are repainting our bathroom that was dark green. I put two coats of white primer on the walls and finally got them white. I then put this paint on in the color "Milk Paint" which is an off-white color. As you can see from the photo it was NOT complete coverage in one coat - even over primer! So much for spendig extra money on "time-saving" "one coat coverage" more expensive paint! It works the same as Home Depot's cheap stuff! Now i have to put a fourth coat on the walls abd hope it works! Thanks for two days of wasted time painting - next time I'll get my paint elsewhere! :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product and support were outstanding I bought this based on a Consumer Reports rating. I needed to cover an Orange room and expected to do 2 full coats to cover the deep orange with an off white. Behr guaranteed a one coat coverage. It did not quite live up to that but it was very nice paint to work with. I contacted Behr about the one coat coverage + it took me and they refunded me the cost of the extra paint needed. NO Squabble! the just wanted some details of the job so they could possibly do better. I would buy it without the guarantee. It is that good. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
