I like to paint. For myself, grandkids, friends. For 20 some years I've used a pricey name brand. However, for my last 3 projects I have used Behr one coat paint/primer (interior). It is awesome. Less than half the cost of the other brand, and it REALLY DOES cover in one coat. Even navy blue!

This paint is amazing the way it covered was absolute outstanding. One coat on the walls did the job.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hollylynne I am a huge fan of Behr paint. I won't use anything else in my house...however as suspected the idea of One-Coat hiding didn't work for me...will be putting up coat two this weekend. Putting navy blue over sea foam green - as I'm not an expert painter I'm not sure if one coat would work. I did not put primer on the walls.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AllaroundHandyman One coat cover?
This is a good quality paint. I only gave 4 stars due to not covering in one coat. If you are using plain white paint to cover a medium to dark color, it will take (at least) two coats. If your paint has at least a light color added, it covers in one coat. I have used Marquee in several rooms, bathrooms and on an outside storage shed. Even the exterior will not cover Hardi planks (yellow color) in one coat. With that said, between the Behr Premium Plus and Marquee, the Marquee is a better quality paint and covers over previous painted items, easier. FYI, don't look at the paint while drying. It will drive you crazy due to being able to see the original color through what was painted. It will completely hide the covered coat when dried. Behr Premium + Kilz costs more than one gallon of Behr Marquee!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fanky498 One Coat Paint is Worth It's Weight In Gold!
When buying paint we have tried numerous value products in the past which required either primer or or numerous coats of paint to cover our walls. I have to say that the Marque product is worth it's weight in gold because it not only covers in one coat (previous dark to light color or vice versa), but it also covered non-primered patched drywall. One coat covers patchwork with same quality and application flow on wall, saving time and paint...excellent quality!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by handyguy Doesn't Always Stick to the Wall
The paint covers well but doesn't stick well when masked later for caulking or other trim. Even when left in place for more than a week and using blue painters easy release tape the paint still pulls off of the wall. Touching up all of the places needing fixing is time consuming pain in the butt.
This is the best most expensive paint Home Depot sells, but with this issue I wouldn't recommend it over less expensive paints.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cherwg4800 Worked Like a Charm! Goodbye Horse Covered Vinyl Wallpaper!
I convinced my parents to purchase this paint as I had seen the advertisements for the "One Coat Coverage." We were attempting to paint over a very busy vinyl wallpaper that covered the kitchen walls in my parents' older but newly purchased mobile home. Although this paint is a little spendy, it does exactly as it says. It covers in one coat! Even on vinyl wallpaper, it adhered and covered well. I can't honestly say that another type of less expensive paint wouldn't do just as well after several coats, but to be honest, my time is worth more than that. One coat coverage with this paint is the way to go!
