Hello bd,
Thanks for your color question! Here are some ideas for a coordinating accent: Spring Storm (S450-3), Tibetan Temple (PPU1-03), or Spiced Wine (PPU1-13). You might want to try out some 8 oz. samples before committing to a color.
Well wishes for your painting!

Can you suggest a medium shade of grey exterior flat paint that does not have blue or purple tones?

Marquee Gotham Grey is closest of all the grey samples I have tried, but it still looks purplish when the sun hits. I have aluminum siding that has taken paint very well in the past, so it's just the color I can't seem to find. Just want a straight medium grey that stays grey in the sun.

Answer:
Hello lily123,
Thanks for your support of Behr paint and your question. Here are some "true" grays that don't have obvious undertones and that are very close in intensity to Gotham Gray (MQ5-29): Cool Ashes (N520-4) or Magnetic Gray (N500-5). Please try 8 oz. samples of these to be sure you like the color.
Best wishes for your project!

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 70 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Behr exterior paint Goes on really smoothly. Time will tell if it will peel like the Ditch Boy did. July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I never paint with anything besides Behr products We bought our house three years ago and have painted all of the rooms and including the exterior with Behr paint . We covered over aluminum siding that was an old 1950's yellow. We covered a 2000 sq foot split level house with a darker green color and only had to do one coat! It has not faded and stays clean since painting it . We also only used 5 gallons. Even though it is on the expensive side the product is well worth the time and energy you save by only doing one coat. June 22, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not impressed I've been an avid Behr Premium Plus Ultra user for many many years. I saw this commercial and thought I had to try this! For the extra cost, I'll stick with the Premium. Very disappointed. More money doesn't equal better coverage! June 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Only Paint I Purchase I have been using BEHR products now for over 10 years. Always goes on smooth and in one coat! Great product! June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best color and bang for your buck We painted a shed with the Cherry cola Marquee color and it turned out to be very rich in color and more than what we were looking for. June 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 1 coat! the grey we picked had no blue tones and only took 1 coat! June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous paint We painted our house a year and a half ago. It looks perfect and everyone, including all the neighbors, think so too. So glad we went with the Marquee. June 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Am I going crazy? I was testing paint colors for the exterior of our house. I went to HD and had them mix samples of this Behr flat exterior with color Behr MQ5-4 (Classy). I figured I'd paint two sides of the shed with the sample to see if we liked the color. I was pleased this is self priming paint, but I still primed using BM Fresh Start. This paint smells like ammonia but goes on thick and easy. It was a pleasure to paint with (other than the smell) and dried quickly. I was surprised that I had enough sample to do two coats on two sides of the shed. We liked the color so I passed along the color number to our painters (they only use BM paints, but BM can make any color). I went back to HD and had them mix me a gallon of Behr color MQ5-4 as well as a sample at 75% for accents (that means 25% lighter). The painters started on the house with BM while I started painting the rest of the shed with the Behr gallon I purchased. I then stepped back and realized the color from the gallon was completely different from the sample we liked and the BM was different than the Behr gallon AND sample. 3 different colors! Holy cow! I thought I was going crazy! The sample looked more grey, the gallon looked lavender-grey, and the BM matched the swatch perfectly (but I typically don't rely on swatches because they tend not to be accurate). I was floored and the painting crew had already finished 2 sides of the house. The house looked more purple than grey. So I don't know if the issue was this Behr paint base used to make the color or an improperly calibrated machine at my local HD. Either way it ended up being a VERY expensive problem to resolve. For that reason I cannot recommend this product. Too many inconsistencies and a major headache. Word of advice to any DIYer painting your house... don't be cheap... buy a full gallon and test the color. Then insist your painters use the same brand. December 1, 2015
