Customer Reviews

5-gal. #PPU1-1 Folklore Flat Exterior Paint is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 134.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good.....not great I am a professional painter. Marquee is definitely good paint but paint and primer is one is a sales gimmick. Almost always need two coats unless you are painting over previously painted surfaces with the exact same or very similiar color. That's the bottom line.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Multiple coats, patchy coverage Behr Marquee Exterior Flat Pure white is my purchase. The product is being applied to previously painted flat woodwork in white. Coverage is patchy after 2 coats and will require a third. Brushes on like high gloss over a high gloss finish. Streaky on first coat unless you over apply. Will require multiple coats for an even finish on my project. Very disappointed considering this is Behr's top of the line. Should have purchased their lowest grade with anticipation of multiple coats and saved myself money. Behr interior is great although I have never used Marquee interior, but after the exterior performance I will not even bother with Marquee again. Will not / would not recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Paint This is the worst paint ever! Using a roller, when I painted over a previously painted section it pulled the somewhat dry paint off the wall! It left it a glopy mess! I called Behr customer service and they suggested I water it down - I shouldn't have to water down expensive paint! I tried watering it down and while cutting in a section with a brush, it continue to pull somewhat dry paint off the way. I'm not going to have to sand the glops off. Avoid this paint!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from so so This paint does not hold up on a vertical surface, at all. It also does not repel dirt, as they advertise, any better than a cheaper paint It is however very thick and covers very well, it just doesn't live up to all the hype they advertise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not cover in 1 coat This paint definitely does not do what it says. We still needed 2 coats on all our interior doors. We could've paid half the price and still needed 2 coats.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TOO expensive For $47.98 per gallon, it is not a one coat paint. Really turned me off. Time will tell how it will hold up against mildew.

This white was very very bright white and excellent for my project. The paint is thick, and goes on thick, so you have to be ready for that. I painted the deck about seven months ago, white was used for the railing and arbor, and this stuff has kept it's brightness. It does layer the wood, so if you hit the wood or like something heavy bumps up against it, it chips it off. The paint doesn't seep into the wood. More of a coat type paint, I guess you can say, which is perfectly fine with me. Coats the wood great, rain doesn't penetrate.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not impressed I've been an avid Behr Premium Plus Ultra user for many many years. I saw this commercial and thought I had to try this! For the extra cost, I'll stick with the Premium. Very disappointed. More money doesn't equal better coverage! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
