Hello cjm,
Thanks for your interest in our paint. There is some special prep for metal: cleaning of any oils, rust, mill scale, or other contaminants and creating a profile or "tooth" on the surface to promote adhesion. This can be done with sanding, abrading (for example, using steel wool), or chemical etching.
Well wishes for your painting!

Hi lohfer, Thank you for your question! On semi-smooth
surfaces, use a high quality 3/8-1/2" nap roller cover, nylon/polyester
brush or an airless sprayer (.015 -.021" spray tip, 60 mesh filter). On
rough surfaces, use a high quality 3/4-1" nap roller cover. Good luck with your project!

Hello linda,
We appreciate your question. By pre-treated, I assume you mean that it's uncoated but pressure treated wood. Yes, it's okay to apply our paint to the fence posts. We would recommend waiting until the wood is completely dry so that the injected chemicals air out (typically 6-8 weeks, but please check with the wood manufacturer or vendor for the exact time needed). Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 62 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Very disapointed Initially Home Depot mixed the wrong paint so after 1st coat had to repaint the house with replaced paint. The satin finish became high gloss after 2nd coat, and Behr replaced the paint with new flat finish exterior. The house has been now painted for the 3rd time but it will not properly cover the previous problems. Terrible shadows, and inconsistent gloss. Not only does the finish look bad, but I have labor time in the 2 additional paintings, and not done yet. July 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I never paint with anything besides Behr products We bought our house three years ago and have painted all of the rooms and including the exterior with Behr paint . We covered over aluminum siding that was an old 1950's yellow. We covered a 2000 sq foot split level house with a darker green color and only had to do one coat! It has not faded and stays clean since painting it . We also only used 5 gallons. Even though it is on the expensive side the product is well worth the time and energy you save by only doing one coat. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] June 22, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not impressed I've been an avid Behr Premium Plus Ultra user for many many years. I saw this commercial and thought I had to try this! For the extra cost, I'll stick with the Premium. Very disappointed. More money doesn't equal better coverage! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best color and bang for your buck We painted a shed with the Cherry cola Marquee color and it turned out to be very rich in color and more than what we were looking for. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] June 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Only Paint I Purchase I have been using BEHR products now for over 10 years. Always goes on smooth and in one coat! Great product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] June 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 1 coat! the grey we picked had no blue tones and only took 1 coat! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous paint We painted our house a year and a half ago. It looks perfect and everyone, including all the neighbors, think so too. So glad we went with the Marquee. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good quality paint Used it to paint my house which had not been painted in over 13 years. 2 coats and it was done! WOW!! I was a little worried at first when the color went on purple and not chipotle paste, but it dried the brownish red color we wanted. After 2 years it still looks great and everyone thinks its a new house or don't recognize it. Now it's time to paint my new 24 x 12 shed to match.
