Answer:
Hi Cindy,
If you have any uneven texture on your walls from brush strokes, it's best to lightly sand them down before painting so the surface is even. It's best to use a medium grit (between 80-120) to remove the brush stroke texture. Happy Painting! - Sara

Answer:
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. It's best to sand the area for regularity. You will need to use a 220 grit (interior) grade sandpaper for indoor or if for outdoor use a 150 grit sandpaper (exterior) to smooth it down.We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

Answer:
Nothing really. Its supposed to cover in one coat and provide extra stain protection compared to the other Behr lines of paint. In reality, it doesnt cover better at all, not even a little bit in my experience.

Answer:
I'm a professional paint contractor. I always plan on 2 coats on new Drywall or color changes. That said, this paint covers better than SW Emerald, Duration and BM Aura. It's also very tenacious in its adhesion and dries very, very hard. It behaves similar to oil in that it flows better than most waterbase paints out there.

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not better than regular Behr paint at all! I bought this in a cream tone to cover some ugly orange-ish color in my office. I also bought a can of English Channel blue in the regular behr. They both required 2-3 coats of paint, but the Marquee costed way more, and did nothing special. The blue actually covered a bit better, so going forward I will just get the cheaper Behr paint since the expensive stuff does nothing special. August 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Will never go back I recently started painting my white living room with a blue glidden paint and stopped halfway through because the blue was way too dark. I hated the idea of having to prime the entire room all over again before trying a different color, so I tried out the 1 coat guarantee behr paint. It was absolutely amazing! The line that I was sure would show up between the white and blue paint was completely covered up by this paint and it looks absolutely fantastic. I will always use this product going forward. I figure t is not actually more expensive than other paints because it really does only take 1 coat to get the job done perfectly. April 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not very impressed With all the advertising and guarantees I wanted to give this a try. Watching paint dry is never fun but since this paint is suppose to look good after one coat I thought it would also save me time and trouble moving furniture around. This was not the case at all, after painting over the old light blue paint it was still bleeding through a very noticeable amount. Ended up wasting my day repainting the room and now I have to buy more paint for the closet I didnt get to paint. This paint isnt exactly cheap so thats another negative. The only positive thing I can say about it is that at least it looks good after painting it twice. May 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty good paint, beautiful colors. We had dark brown walls and dark purple walls that we were covering. We went ahead and lightly primed the dark walls. The paint went on very well and seemed to cover great. When doing the trim work where the primer was not on, I noticed that the dark colors were a lil harder to cover but it's all in how you apply it and brush strokes. December 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Recovered skeptic The one-coat guarantee from the woman at the paint counter at Home Depot convinced me to give this a shot. When I came home and looked up these reviews, I had my doubts. But not anymore. We were converting our large master bedroom from dark brown to light green. After all the proper prep - cleaning, sanding and final wipe down of all walls - I went to work with the paint and was surprised at how easily it covered. Not only did it cover, but there's a nice depth to the paint. A couple trouble areas that I was worried about - a 12 x 14 foot wall with no doors or windows, and narrow places that required all brush work - all look fantastic. An area that needed patching showed no difference in color or sheen. No need for primer. The stuff is pretty expensive, but it probably worked out the same with only needing one coat. I'm not sure what happened to all the people here giving bad reviews. Technique may play a part. I was a professional painter for six years, putting myself through college, and have done all my own painting jobs around the house since then. So I know to use the proper tools and proper brush and roller technique. But this paint did not require using anything other than normal painting practices. January 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SAVED ME SO MUCH TIME! Just bought a new house and was having anxiety about painting the entire thing with no help other than from my parents. Had seen commercials for Behr Marquee and thought it may be too good to be true and I am so glad to say it delivered exactly what it promised! One coat covered everything! Yes you must go over one spot a couple times with a roller depending on what color is underneath and how smooth the wall is, but one coat does the trick. This paint saved me so much time and I really think using regular paint would have costed more as I would have needed more paint! I will recommend this to everyone I know. I am wondering what people complaining about having to do more than one coat did....I am thinking they didn't use the correct tools, rollers, etc. or they just like to complain about everything...BEHR MARQUEE IS THE WAY TO GO! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Awful thick paint I've always used Behr paint and go out of my way to get it when another home improvement store is much closer to my house. We repainted our home before moving in with the color "dainty lace" over a light yellow cream color. There are some many blotches it's unbelievable. We have light orange peel textured walls. I just painted the kitchen with Behr Ultra and it covered flawlessly. I'm going to get the Dainty Lace color matched in Behr ultra so I can do an additional coat. September 13, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the money! Was told this is a one coat paint w/primer all in one. Purchased in twinberry (dark maroon color) and painted over light creme walls. Used a high quality brush for cutting in and a high quality roller. Had to redo every wall as there were so many speckled areas on every wall the next day. Definitely not worth the money for this paint! Love the color but not iimpressed at all with the paint. Would definitely have gone another route had I known but sales person said they could not guarantee the color match if we went with a cheaper paint. Personally, never had issues with that before and wished I followed my gut instead of the sales persons recommendations. November 21, 2014
