Hi Dewey,
Our Marquee Exterior Flat paint would be a great option for your wood garage door. This is our most durable exterior paint – it’s also mildew, fade, and dirt resistant, self-priming, and low VOC.

I want to paint my house the deep forest but I don't need it with the primer mixed in since painters already primed my house. What other base should I use for exterior wood? And would it change the color? I already tested the color with the marquee base, and that is the exact color we are looking for.

Hello Julien,
Thanks for your question. Marquee has a primer mixed in, so to get a paint that doesn't, I recommend our Premium Plus Exterior Flat paint. Although it covers so well that we consider it a paint and primer in one, it doesn't have actual primer in it. The color should also come out the same across product lines, as we've made and tested individual color formulas for each paint line and sheen Read More

My siding has been crackling and peeling for six years and I want something that will be a better cover than the factory baked finish that we were never supposed to have to touch. I am in southern Ontario and we have all four seasons and sometimes extreme weather in those seasons. I do not want to have to paint my house over and over again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by home improvement Great paint, painted over dark color and it only took one coat, July 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best product avaliable Painted over a 6ft barn red fence. Only needed one coat, which is good because the one coat guarantee isn't valid on exterior. If it's at all possible I'd wait until HD is having a sale, $40 a gallon makes a simple room paint job add up quick. Just know the rebate isn't a check to you it's a HD gift card July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by TOO expensive For $47.98 per gallon, it is not a one coat paint. Really turned me off. Time will tell how it will hold up against mildew. August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Exterior paint I have covered ablue color with this paint and it covers well August 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NOT one coat paint - Do NOT recomend this paint. We had this paint applied by professional painter per instructions on can. This color went over our existing light green paint. The first coat was streaky, blotchy, and some green was showing through. The fading and imperfections looked as bad as the 8yr old faded paint we were replacing. Behr representative suggested a second coat and back rolling. Painter applied second coat as suggested. We still see some streaking, separation of the tint from the paint (according to painter), it scuffs extremely easily from ladder against the wall, and there are other numerous blemishes. It looks as if the paint has been on the house for years and is starting to fade even after two coats. I am extremely dissatisfied with the paint in general and specifically in regards to performance against Behr's marketing claims and guarantees. I would not recommend this paint to others. We will be following up with Behr on this. Warranty only covers cost of paint - so we are out the $ we spent on labor with professional painter, and will be looking to have to spend more $ to have our painter cover up this mess with the Sherman Williams Duration product they normally use. Our paint contractor has painted several other houses in our neighborhood with the competitors paint and they all look great with only 1 coat - so it's not an issue with the crew painting the house. I only wish I could write this review in general for all Behr Marque paint colors, so others considering the product in other colors can see our review and heed warning. May 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Very disapointed Initially Home Depot mixed the wrong paint so after 1st coat had to repaint the house with replaced paint. The satin finish became high gloss after 2nd coat, and Behr replaced the paint with new flat finish exterior. The house has been now painted for the 3rd time but it will not properly cover the previous problems. Terrible shadows, and inconsistent gloss. Not only does the finish look bad, but I have labor time in the 2 additional paintings, and not done yet. July 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Behr Marquee Napa Wine flat exterior paint. A great fun color paint. I Painted the backyard shed door and trim with this wine color. It brought a real burst of color to a gray shed. The paint was easy to apply and did not run or drip. One coat covered the previous white color trim. Paint brushes cleaned easily with water. The paint has been on for nearly a year. It has weathered well with no fading April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I never paint with anything besides Behr products We bought our house three years ago and have painted all of the rooms and including the exterior with Behr paint . We covered over aluminum siding that was an old 1950's yellow. We covered a 2000 sq foot split level house with a darker green color and only had to do one coat! It has not faded and stays clean since painting it . We also only used 5 gallons. Even though it is on the expensive side the product is well worth the time and energy you save by only doing one coat. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] June 22, 2016
