will this work on counter tops? cultured marble?, laminate?

Asked by: Kevvy
Hello Kevvy, Thanks for your question. We don't recommend this product for use on counter tops, cultured marble, or laminate. None of Behr's products are designed for marble of any kind or laminate. However, for laminate, you could first apply our sister company's Kilz Adhesion Primer (good for slick, difficult to paint surfaces) and then topcoat the primer with one of our wall paints like the Ultra or Marquee. Counter tops are okay to coat with our wall paints if the areas are not for food contact and not for heavy use with, say, workshop tools. Depending on how the counter top will be used, you might want to check with Home Depot for another brand's product. Well wishes for your project!

Resurfacing my basement floor

My son kept his dog in my basement, of course he was not housebroken, so the dog peed and pooped on the floor, now my unfinished concrete basement floor is holding those odors and stains, would this product work to resurface my basement floor to get rid of the odors and stains? I want to properly correct this problem not mask the problem.
Asked by: DogBey
Hi DogBey, Thanks for your interest in our Behr Premium 1-Part Epoxy Concrete & Garage Floor Paint. Our 1-Part Epoxy is a protective and decorative coating designed to coat over properly prepared concrete surfaces. It will completely cover over the stains but it may not mask the odor. Please refer to the product label for proper surface preparation and application. Good luck with your project!

1-Gal. #PFC-65 Flat Top 1-Part Epoxy Concrete and Garage Floor Paint is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from not durable for normal use I followed the instructions and used this paint for my concrete carport, front porch and rear screened patio I applied 2 coats with 24 hours dry time in between and allowed it to dry for over a week before parking or placing patio furniture. There were tire marks in the carport within days of parking The patio is scratched up from moving light patio furniture Front porch is scratched from who knows what? maybe a package delivery? dog feet? your guess is as good as mine My brother has also used the same paint in his garage twice with the same results as above We are in south Florida so maybe it's not good for humid climates? Not sure why this is sold as durable garage because it is certainly not that I guess it's better than nothing but certainly not a good product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1 Part Epoxy Review Easy to apply and looks good. Poor bonding characteristics. Now that I have it down, I have to remove all of it completely (not fun) and get another product or live with a substandard product. Not pleased at all!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor driveway paint Behr 1-part spicy concrete&garage floor paint nr.900 applied first coat after cleaning and power washing driveway let dry 24 hours. Let dry 8 hours after applying. Applied second coat per instruction on can. No traffic of any kind for 10 days. This was done 8-25-2016 we had mild winter with only 2 inches snow no salt or ice melt used sun cleaned off snow & ice. Paint is now flaking up. This paint is very poor driveway paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ignore the bad reviews I painted my basement floor 3 years ago and it looks like the day I finished painting, even in high traffic areas. Success with these coatings is 100% dependent on following instructions and prepping the floor correctly. I can guarantee that the guy who brought the house and had peeling paint had a previous owner who slapped a coat on to look good, but failed to clean, degrease, and etch properly. This is great paint. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Use Purchased this for our garage floor and our basement floor. Turned out OK on our basement floor. Our garage floor is horrible. We followed instructions exactly. We didn't put anything heavy in our garage for over a month - didn't even park our cars in it since we wanted to make sure it set and wouldn't peel up. Even two months after the application, we were still finding new spots where the paint came off. It especially is coming off under our tires. We don't even have huge, heavy cars! Now we're waiting through the winter but have to figure out how to fix it when the weather gets nicer. It'll be hard to fix just the spots since the speckling/painting will become uneven. I would not recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time and money Followed the directions to the letter. Power washed the carport, etched it with Behr etcher, applied Behr primer. Put on 2 coats of paint.,waited 2 weeks before we drove on it. Now after 8 months it's all coming off where the car tires contact the surface.Looks terrible. Absolute junk...last time I would buy Behr products. All the work gone to waste

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Something wrong with this product I have used this paint several times with great success however something has changed. It now takes twice as much as before to cover an area and repeated coatings. The worst part is the pigments separate after product is applied to the floor so it looks streaked. I could not believe my eyes. At first I figured it was me so I stirred the paint thoroughly then put a small amount in the pan stirred it again and then almost immediately the pigments began to separate. This was product I used hours after purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not your best product Did a basement re-do. Painted walls with Behr's waterproof paint over a previous coat of Drylock. Covered well and looks good. Re-painted my basement floor after thirty years with an acrylic enamel from another mfgr. Cleaned the floor, used Behr's Cleaner and Etcher to scrub it again. Put down two coats with a several-day dry time between. Project dragged out over several months, but the first areas done already are wearing through the new paint. Usage is only with an office chair with casters, and slippers or sneakers. The rest of my house has been painted with Behr's products, sometimes more than once, with great results. Very disappointed in the basement paint. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
