Will this look like ice on a hockey rink?

I was wondering if I could use this on a smooth surface to create a nice Hockey Rink feel for my aunt who loves hockey. I was thinking on adding a clear coat or gloss coat on top of this to add a shine effect to the floor and I seen something like this on DIY. Instead of mixing my own Epoxie, I thought this would be an easier alternative. I want someone who has used this to tell me if this idea could work with this paint.

Hi Tallan,
Thank you for your question. We recommend going to the store and getting a color card to see the color chip. This will give you an accurate sample of what the color looks like. Be sure to follow all back label instructions and best of luck on your project.

applying epoxy to a tile floor

I would like to use your product on my basement floor. I am a new owner and the basement has been tiled before and some tiles are missing. I'd prefer not having to remove all the tiles in the 28 X 28 foot basement. Can I apply your epoxy paint directly to floor tiles? Not sure of the material makeup of the tiles, but appear to be typical decorative grooved basement type tiles.

Hi BobD,
Thank you for your interest in our Behr Premium 1-part Epoxy Concrete & Garage Floor Paint. While this product will work for concrete and masonry substrates, we do not recommend this product for use on areas subject to hydrostatic pressure.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer:
Dear Anonymous,
Thank you for your interest in BEHR PREMIUM® 1-Part Epoxy Concrete & Garage Floor Paint.
The "Ice White" color is a gray-white and "White Cloud" color is a beige-white, so neither is a true white. The only true white is the "Ultra Pure White".
Hope this helps, and best of luck on your project!

Dear 32rodder,
Thanks for considering our Behr Premium 1-Part Epoxy Concrete & Garage Floor Paint for your project. We highly recommend waiting at least 30 days before subjecting your concrete floor to any coatings. In most cases one coat will be enough but two coats will improve product durability and color hide.
Although your concrete floor is new, we always recommend some form of surface preparation to ensure a long-lasting durable and professional looking finish. For your new concrete floor, listed are the required preparation steps.
1. Check the surface to ensure it is not sealed or have high amounts of hydrostatic pressure (ground moisture). To check for a sealer, Test the surface by dripping a small amount of water onto the surface. If water beads and continues to stay on top, it indicates that a sealer is present and the BEHR Premium 1-Part Epoxy may not adhere. The sealer must be removed before using this product. After stripping, re-test the surface for water absorbency. To check for excessive hydrostatic pressure, place a 3’ x 3’ piece of clear plastic directly to the concrete and duct tape on all edges. Allow the plastic to sit for 24 hours. If water droplets appear on the inside of the plastic after 24 hours or if the concrete is damp, the surface contains moisture and the floor should not be painted. Moisture problem must be corrected before coating.
2. The surface must be clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, grease, oil, curing agents and all other contaminants.
3. For proper penetration and adhesion of topcoat, use our Behr Premium NO. 991 Concrete & Masonry Cleaner & Etcher. Using our Cleaner & Etcher will ensure the surface is clean and provide the ideal surface profile (medium grit texture) to allow our 1-Part Epoxy adhere to the surface. Please refer to the instruction guide for application instructions. Read Less

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 41 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Make everything stand out!!! I paint walkway from my front door to make a statement and it does. I love it. May 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality goods, easy ordering/delivery Super easy to use, tough as nails, delivered to my doorstep pre-stirred ... a big bonus! July 28, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of time and money Followed the directions to the letter. Power washed the carport, etched it with Behr etcher, applied Behr primer. Put on 2 coats of paint.,waited 2 weeks before we drove on it. Now after 8 months it's all coming off where the car tires contact the surface.Looks terrible. Absolute junk...last time I would buy Behr products. All the work gone to waste March 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ignore the bad reviews I painted my basement floor 3 years ago and it looks like the day I finished painting, even in high traffic areas. Success with these coatings is 100% dependent on following instructions and prepping the floor correctly. I can guarantee that the guy who brought the house and had peeling paint had a previous owner who slapped a coat on to look good, but failed to clean, degrease, and etch properly. This is great paint. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] July 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT USE! Ever...! Run away from this product! The fact that there are five star reviews is a travesty. I purchased a house where it had been used recently, and within three weeks of closing it started to peel EVERYWHERE. Removal from concrete is expensive, imperfect, and awful. Just read the product's label! It says DO NOT use where exposed to "hydrostatic pressure." That means "the weight of water." But it's billed as "exterior" paint, perfect for pool side patios. Buy something better (which will most likely mean more expensive; this is an inappropriate price point for exterior walkway or patio paint). If you don't, it will be an expensive mistake. May 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Use Purchased this for our garage floor and our basement floor. Turned out OK on our basement floor. Our garage floor is horrible. We followed instructions exactly. We didn't put anything heavy in our garage for over a month - didn't even park our cars in it since we wanted to make sure it set and wouldn't peel up. Even two months after the application, we were still finding new spots where the paint came off. It especially is coming off under our tires. We don't even have huge, heavy cars! Now we're waiting through the winter but have to figure out how to fix it when the weather gets nicer. It'll be hard to fix just the spots since the speckling/painting will become uneven. I would not recommend this product. February 15, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Something wrong with this product I have used this paint several times with great success however something has changed. It now takes twice as much as before to cover an area and repeated coatings. The worst part is the pigments separate after product is applied to the floor so it looks streaked. I could not believe my eyes. At first I figured it was me so I stirred the paint thoroughly then put a small amount in the pan stirred it again and then almost immediately the pigments began to separate. This was product I used hours after purchase. February 15, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not your best product Did a basement re-do. Painted walls with Behr's waterproof paint over a previous coat of Drylock. Covered well and looks good. Re-painted my basement floor after thirty years with an acrylic enamel from another mfgr. Cleaned the floor, used Behr's Cleaner and Etcher to scrub it again. Put down two coats with a several-day dry time between. Project dragged out over several months, but the first areas done already are wearing through the new paint. Usage is only with an office chair with casters, and slippers or sneakers. The rest of my house has been painted with Behr's products, sometimes more than once, with great results. Very disappointed in the basement paint. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] May 18, 2015
