Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be mixed for a different color then white say light grey

Asked by: Walt
Hello Walt, Great question. Once a color has been mixed into our 1-Part Epoxy, then we would not recommend adding a different color into. However, we do have some light gray colors available in our 1-Part Epoxy. We have our “Silver Gray” and “Pacific Fog” colors. http://www.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-Premium-1-gal-PFC-68-Silver-Gray-1-Part-Epoxy-Concrete-and-Garage-Floor-Paint-90001/207115181 http://www.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-Premium-1-Gal-PFC-62-Pacific-Fog-1-Part-Epoxy-Concrete-and-Garage-Floor-Paint-90001/203937003 Best regards, Kevin

Will this look like ice on a hockey rink?

I was wondering if I could use this on a smooth surface to create a nice Hockey Rink feel for my aunt who loves hockey. I was thinking on adding a clear coat or gloss coat on top of this to add a shine effect to the floor and I seen something like this on DIY. Instead of mixing my own Epoxie, I thought this would be an easier alternative. I want someone who has used this to tell me if this idea could work with this paint.
Asked by: Tallan
Hi Tallan, Thank you for your question. We recommend going to the store and getting a color card to see the color chip. This will give you an accurate sample of what the color looks like. Be sure to follow all back label instructions and best of luck on your project.

applying epoxy to a tile floor

I would like to use your product on my basement floor. I am a new owner and the basement has been tiled before and some tiles are missing. I'd prefer not having to remove all the tiles in the 28 X 28 foot basement. Can I apply your epoxy paint directly to floor tiles? Not sure of the material makeup of the tiles, but appear to be typical decorative grooved basement type tiles.
Asked by: BobD
Hi BobD, Thank you for your interest in our Behr Premium 1-part Epoxy Concrete & Garage Floor Paint. While this product will work for concrete and masonry substrates, we do not recommend this product for use on areas subject to hydrostatic pressure. Hope this helps and best of luck!

What is the difference between the colors "ice white" and "white cloud"? Which color is more white?

Asked by: margie
Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your interest in BEHR PREMIUM® 1-Part Epoxy Concrete & Garage Floor Paint. The "Ice White" color is a gray-white and "White Cloud" color is a beige-white, so neither is a true white. The only true white is the "Ultra Pure White". Hope this helps, and best of luck on your project!

1-Gal. #PFC-66 Ice White 1-Part Epoxy Concrete and Garage Floor Paint is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1 Part Epoxy Review Easy to apply and looks good. Poor bonding characteristics. Now that I have it down, I have to remove all of it completely (not fun) and get another product or live with a substandard product. Not pleased at all!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor driveway paint Behr 1-part spicy concrete&garage floor paint nr.900 applied first coat after cleaning and power washing driveway let dry 24 hours. Let dry 8 hours after applying. Applied second coat per instruction on can. No traffic of any kind for 10 days. This was done 8-25-2016 we had mild winter with only 2 inches snow no salt or ice melt used sun cleaned off snow & ice. Paint is now flaking up. This paint is very poor driveway paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ignore the bad reviews I painted my basement floor 3 years ago and it looks like the day I finished painting, even in high traffic areas. Success with these coatings is 100% dependent on following instructions and prepping the floor correctly. I can guarantee that the guy who brought the house and had peeling paint had a previous owner who slapped a coat on to look good, but failed to clean, degrease, and etch properly. This is great paint. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Use Purchased this for our garage floor and our basement floor. Turned out OK on our basement floor. Our garage floor is horrible. We followed instructions exactly. We didn't put anything heavy in our garage for over a month - didn't even park our cars in it since we wanted to make sure it set and wouldn't peel up. Even two months after the application, we were still finding new spots where the paint came off. It especially is coming off under our tires. We don't even have huge, heavy cars! Now we're waiting through the winter but have to figure out how to fix it when the weather gets nicer. It'll be hard to fix just the spots since the speckling/painting will become uneven. I would not recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time and money Followed the directions to the letter. Power washed the carport, etched it with Behr etcher, applied Behr primer. Put on 2 coats of paint.,waited 2 weeks before we drove on it. Now after 8 months it's all coming off where the car tires contact the surface.Looks terrible. Absolute junk...last time I would buy Behr products. All the work gone to waste

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not durable for normal use I followed the instructions and used this paint for my concrete carport, front porch and rear screened patio I applied 2 coats with 24 hours dry time in between and allowed it to dry for over a week before parking or placing patio furniture. There were tire marks in the carport within days of parking The patio is scratched up from moving light patio furniture Front porch is scratched from who knows what? maybe a package delivery? dog feet? your guess is as good as mine My brother has also used the same paint in his garage twice with the same results as above We are in south Florida so maybe it's not good for humid climates? Not sure why this is sold as durable garage because it is certainly not that I guess it's better than nothing but certainly not a good product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Something wrong with this product I have used this paint several times with great success however something has changed. It now takes twice as much as before to cover an area and repeated coatings. The worst part is the pigments separate after product is applied to the floor so it looks streaked. I could not believe my eyes. At first I figured it was me so I stirred the paint thoroughly then put a small amount in the pan stirred it again and then almost immediately the pigments began to separate. This was product I used hours after purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Check Suppliers reviews before purchase We purchased the Behr Premium 1-Part Epoxy based on the reviews found here. We applied the paint after following all prep instructions to the letter. After the recommended 7 day wait period, the paint scratched off with a fingernail. So after waiting three weeks to park our vehicle on the surface, we find that the paint is being pulled up by the tires. After noting the problems, we checked the ratings of the paint on the supplier's website. a well known box-store. The ratings on that site were considerably lower, with many warnings from other consumers not to purchase. Naturally, after the expense of purchasing the paint and supplies, not to mention the time and energy spent on the prep work, we are most disapointed. We now are faced with the big job of removing the Behr paint, and replacing it with a better product. Would appreciate Behr's feedback.
