CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Buy I used this garage floor paint to create a checkered pattern in my 3 car garage. In 2007 I had painted the garage gray with a 2 part epoxy and it held up really good but I was tired of the gray color. In order to use this epoxy, I scuff sanded the existing epoxy and then washed it with a diluted concrete citrus cleaner. After completely washing and drying the floor, I let it sit for a day in order for the moisture content to dissipate. I then measured and taped 18 inch squares and painted every other square. Since I had a gray floor before, after the first coat, I could still see some of the gray so I gave it 2 coats. The contents of 1 gallon were enough to cover the 3 car garage at 2 coats with the checkered pattern. For the other remaining squares, I used the Behr Ultra White Epoxy. This color was a little harder to work with because 2 coats where not enough to completely cover the previous gray but instead I ended up giving it 3 coats and using 2 full gallons. After the 7 day wait, I drove the car into the garage and the epoxy held up really good. The only thing I did not like is that the black color gets dirty quickly, but I cant complain, after all it is a garage. :-) January 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great product and a good value. Behrs' 1 part epoxy concrete floor paint was a surprisingly good material for my concrete driveway. I am a professional painter with over 20 years experience and have used just about every type of coating on just about every type of surface. I was skeptical at first about using a big store product on a concrete driveway due to the fact that once its applied the cost of redoing it would be very expensive as the material would have to be sand blasted off. Someone in the past applied blacktop tar (only to be used on asphalt) over the concrete. After years of wear and a thorough pressure cleaning about 1/3 of the tar remained. I knew that a 1 part water based epoxy coating was my best bet. After some research, I decided to go with the Behr product. The price was almost to low (another red flag for me) after beginning the application I found the products hiding quality was outstanding (hiding refers to the ability for the material to hide the color underneath) considering that the material was fairly thin and I was using black over mostly raw concrete. One coat hid pretty good but I applied two coats for an extra solid look. Coverage was also impressive at around 400 sq. feet per gallon. Quick tip: If you have cracks in your concrete driveway over a 64th of an inch wide, use a hand grinder with a 4" masonry blade to open them up to at least an 8th of an inch wide (ALWAYS WEAR A DUST MASK AND EYE PROTECTION!!!) and fill them with tile grout (epoxy based grout is even better). Always wear rubber gloves when working with grout! Be sure to pressure clean concrete (after grinding cracks open) with at least a 2500 psi pressure cleaner and allow to thoroughly dry. Use warm water mixed with tri sodium phosphate to clean any oil or greasy spots. The results will be well worth it! HAVE FUN!!! August 16, 2014
