Leak through masonry wall

I have a leak that I am unable to pinpoint. Water is dripping in from an exterior stone siding of my home to the inside of the wall. I caulked all the mortar joints and after spayed water on the exterior wall and water is still dripping in. If I cover the entire suspected area of the interior wall with your product, do you believe this may resolve my issue.
Asked by: david78660
Hello david78660, We appreciate your question. Yes, the walls can be damp, but any active water leaks would need to be stopped before applying our product. Otherwise, the product may fail. If unable to stop the leaks, you might check with Home Depot for another brand's coating that could suit your project needs. Best wishes for your project! -Joshua

Can I inject this between the frame and the concrete wall in the basement to stop leaking at the ends of the threshold?

Asked by: Rick
Hi Rick, Thanks for your question. Unfortunately our Basement and Masonry Waterproofer wasn't designed to be injected and does not have the density to stay in place. You may want to reach out to your local Home Depot for a product like a waterproofing caulk instead. I wish you the best with your project! - Sara

Hello Fcpgc, We appreciate your question and your support of Behr products. Yes, if you'd prefer, you may paint over the Waterproofer Paint with another wall paint. Best wishes for your project!

cAN THIS BE USED ON AN EXTERIOR WOODEN DOOR?

I have an exterior solid core wood door that we sealed with a lacquer. Approx one inch on the bottom of the door needs additional treatment after several winters. I would like to use something like this to protect the bottom of the door and about two inches up. Will this work or should I just get some enamel paint?
Asked by: Steve
Hello Steve, Thanks for your question! Right--this product is not designed for use on wood, so we'd recommend using something like one of our exterior latex wall paints, for example, Ultra or Marquee Exterior Satin paint. Best wishes for your project!

We used Behr Basement & Masonry Waterproofing Paint for a very difficult application. The floor was a crumbling concrete with a great deal of dust that just kept coming up, regardless of how much we scrubbed it. There was not enough time or money to go through the process to correct the issue, so we crossed our fingers and painted over the mess. This paint rescued us from our problem with flying colors. The floor now looks wonderful and more than paid for itself in time and performance. It was easy to apply an covered much better than we expected, given the less than desirable condition of the floor! Behr B&M surpassed our expectations and after a month, it still looks brand new. Thank you so much, Behr!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Easy Coverage, Minimal Smell My husband and I purchased this to basement waterproofer to coat the walls in our home built in 1978. Unlike previous experiences in other homes using Drylock, this Behr had a very minimal smell making it much easier to do this project on our own. When purchasing this, the gentlemen at Home Depot noted that the price difference between this and Drylock was minimal, but that the Behr quality was much superior. He noted that Drylock hasn't updated their formula in the last 30 years and that Behr has much better technology. I couldn't agree more. We were really impressed with the ability to tint the color of the Behr paint and ended up going with a nice shade of light grey. The application of the paint was easy and the coverage was great. The can noted that you could apply it to slightly moist surfaces which was a relief because we did have a small area were the cinderblock was already moist. We applied two coats and wow, what an improvement over the bland cinderblock! I would definitely recommend to anyone that has a moist basement. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent performance and easy application! We purchased an older home with a leaky basement, and have tried a few different products to seal the walls. One waterproofing paint was so thick and sticky it was like painting with thick maple syrup. The second one didn't cover well and the smell was awful. I started to think we were going to have to hire a contractor if we were ever going to have a dry basement. After some serious frustration and quite a bit of money spent, we tried the Behr waterproofer. What a difference! The paint went on smoothly without any drag at all, even over some rough areas where the wall had been textured with sand. The coverage was great. It has been on the walls for a couple of months now and no water or moisture yet! Very pleased! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but very thick I have used this in several areas. It worked great in an underground basement, although it took 6 coats to finally stop the water penetration. I have also used it to paint my stucco home. The material went on quite easily and with 2 coats, it looks like new several years out. The biggest challenge is that it is really thick, think frosting and you get the idea, particularly on a cold morning. Don't try to stir it to mix in the pigment, you will be all day. Every day I was planning to paint, I took it to my local home depot to shake it. Never had a problem that way. It is really hard to roll on and I couldn't imagine spraying it, even though the directions say you can. I used a brush, which took a long time, but it seems very durable so it was effort well spent. I have also used this on wood and it works but it takes several coats, since wood is porous. But once I was done, it was really water proof and looked great. Finally, the custom color selection is pretty extensive, but don't expect every possibility. Deep colors are just not possible and the finish is totally matte, but very smooth to the touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best thing we've found! We were at our wits' end when we came across BEHR PREMIUM® Basement & Masonry Waterproofer. We seriously couldn't have found a better product! Our tiny cracks in the foundation were seeping water every time we had a bad storm and this totally did the trick! We can't thank you enough, BEHR!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Basement & Masonry Waterproofing Paint Put this product on my basement walls, some of which were actively damp. Within two hours the walls were completely dry and have remained so for 4 months now. Just might be something to this "nano-partical" technology. Time will tell.
