Rated 1 out of 5Â by David A 1-Yr Deck Stain (almost)
After 11 months, we again sanded and are staining both the front and rear decks. Numerous areas revealed the deck did not absorb this product well. It is definitely more like a paint except that I believe a good paint may protect longer than 11 months. Vertical rails still have a good coat and are not being re-treated.
See photos: Two of rear deck after 1 coat + 12 hours of temps 60-75 degrees and one of front deck after 2 coats. Side railing has lasted and is not re-coated.

Look at this gorgeous fence. My contractor and I were pretty pleased with ourselves for the design and execution. People drive by, stop in the middle of the street, and take photos. It was an expensive and time consuming project. You can't see it in the photos but the gate matches the cutwork panels. You can't even tell that a gate is there (my contractor is a genious.)
When it came time to put on a finish, I really didn't want to spend MORE money on paint. I really gritted my teeth at the cost of the Behr Premium. Home Depot paint department staff saved me a bit of money by mixing it up 5 gallons at a time but still......
However, look at this gorgeous fence! I think the grass looks greener now too, don't you?

We used this product to stain our deck in September 2012 and already in April 2013 it was flaking off in many places. The wood was clean, sanded, and in perfect condition when we applied the stain so the only excuse for the short life span must be the fact that it was exposed to the winter weather. I specifically bought this product #1) because I trust the Behr name and #2) because it says "WEATHER PROOFING" right on the front label. Now I have to strip the remaining stain off and redo it (with an entirely different stain) if I want to be able to use my deck this summer. Do not waste your time with this product!
Incidentally, even if this stain didn't flake and peel on me, I wasn't too happy with the look of it in the first place. It looks much more like paint than stain.

The can says 6-8 years. After 1 year on deck (and it was professionaly applied with all cleaning and preparation steps) it stared peeling. Don't waste time and money and risk your deck. Go with brand name stain...
