Hello Dionne,
Great question. Our Solid Color Weatherproofing Wood Stain is only designed to be used on wood and we would not recommend using it on concrete.

Hello Clumsy,
Sorry to hear about the spill. If there's any stain that happens to still be wet on the linoleum, then I'd recommend removing that with some rags, paper towels, a sponge, or some other absorbent material. I have a deck that was covered with deckover a few years ago. I want to replace some boards and restain with a different color. Can I use the solid stain over the existing deckover if it's cleaned first? Will it look noticeably different on the new boards?

Depending on how long the DeckOver has been on the surface, the new app of solid stain may look a bit different but mainly due to any natural fading that may have occurred over time. Worst case scenario would be to thinly recoat the DeckOver areas with solid stain for a uniform finish. Best wishes for your project!

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 158 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really adheres to the wood! I love this stain. It goes on somewhat thick to give great protection, and I can almost feel it seeping into my old wood. I did the balusters a couple of years ago, and they still look freshly painted. This year I did the floor, and given the age of the wood, it really made such a huge difference. July 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best i have ever used If you follow the directions on the can you will be impressed. Excellent coverage very forgiving not watery like regular stains this acts more like paint than stain July 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressive Coverage I used this product on old posts of our deck to match the semi-transparent stain on our newly refinished portion. Easy application and the color was very uniform after the second coat (even on varied quality of previous color underneath). I'm hopefully it will last the advertised 10 years. April 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NOT EVEN CLOSE TO CEDAR - BRIGHT ORANGE, VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED Worst color ever, turned out bright pumpkin orange. We just built a brand new deck with a roof. My husband wanted to stain the plywood and roof joist before installing. I was not around and had told him I wanted the cedarwood transparent stain for the deck that we used prior and had a nice natural wood tone.. Well since it was plywood he decided to do a solid stain and install it to surprise me.. Well Cedarwood solid turned out to be bright pumpkin orange. It is the ugliest thing in the world. Now my camper deck roof sticks out like a sore thumb. A big Bright Orange roof. I don't know how in the world to fix this. I saw the color sample in the store and it looked much more muted and a lot less orange and more tan in it.. This I am sure now was due to the lighting and the fact it was next to the solid chocolate stain. Beware of solid stain in Cedarwood tones. You might just end up with a big orange mess. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Life Expectancy It looks good and goes on well, but I can't seem to get more than 2 years on the deck boards. We're a 2-adult family and aren't on it all that much, but it starts flaking after just 2 years. This seems to be the average length of any others I've tried as well but most of them are less expensive. August 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wood stain Overall it was fine. It definitely needs 2 coats to cover. Be prepared to buy more stain. July 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Uggggly!!!!! Color is a bright ORANGE! I used this on my approximately 1000 square foot deck that surrounds my pool. Deck is treated deck lumber and about 10 years old and was weathered. Used the recommended cleaner to clean and scrub the deck per manufacturer's directions and replaced/repaired damaged wood. A 5 gallon bucket lasted me approximately 850 square feet for ONE coat (the sales person at Home Depot assured me I had plenty to cover my deck with two coats) and the stain is a grotesque ORANGE!! I took off work for a week to do this deck and it looks WORSE than it did before I stained it. I want to cover this ugly stain with another color but now I do not trust what color I am truly purchasing. I would give it a ZERO rating for value if I had that choice since now I have to buy more stain to cover this ugly color $166 plus tax for 5 gallons, three paint brushes $9.99, and three deck pads $19.00, deck pad holder and pole $19.00, three gallons of deck cleaner $30.00, one gallon deck stain remover $10.00 (had a few spots with old stain) for a total $270.00 wasted. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleased with the look and finish of Behr solid color stain I have a new (one year old) Poplar sided barn. I let the siding dry for a year and then wanted to protect the wood with something more than a transparent stain. The Behr solid color weatherproofing stain has done a beautiful job, and very closely matches the color of our poplar sided house. I will use this solid color stain on my house in the near future.
