Customer Questions & Answers

I have a wood porch floor that needs painting . Do I need to prime the floor first before I paint it ?

Asked by: Vetteman
If you are planning to use this Behr paint, don't bother because it will begin to peel within a couple of months whether you prime or not.

Can this be used on the cement in front of a garage?

Asked by: Sissy
Hello, Thank you for your interest in our products. Yes, our Porch and Patio Paint can be used on concrete. However, if it's a driveway, then we would not recommend it. Our paint does not have the benefit of withstanding vehicle traffic. Best regards, Kevin

1-gal. Deep Base Low-Lustre Porch and Patio Floor Paint is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't do this to yourself. I used this on the concrete floor of my screened-in porch. Someone at Home Depot assured me it wouldn't require a primer. I put down two coats and gave it a few weeks to dry before moving furniture in. And now there are scratches everywhere. Set down and pick up a piece of lightweight furniture? Scratch. Walk on it in hard-soled shoes? Scratch. Look at it the wrong way? Scratch. I can't imagine using this outside and expecting it to stand up to the elements. Now all I can do is put down rugs and look for a better product to repaint with. Whatever it is, it won't be made by Behr and I won't be buying it from Home Depot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great I was redoing the finish the deck. Originally used Thompson's water seal with stain. Don't do this. Use this paint and lay it on liberally. Used a brush, that took forever, but looks amazing. Prepped with power washer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than stain!!! After properly cleaning and applying the multi-surface primer and sealer as recommended, the porch and patio paint applied easily, dried fast and so far withstood hot summer sun and winter snow and ice. Also remarkably withstood our small dog's urination on the staircases. The nonskid floor finish additive greatly reduced slipping with rain, ice and snow. Wonderful product, will definitely use again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasting Durability We all know how outdoor decks can be a high maintence item (especially in a climate like Minnesota). I was looking for an alternative to staining every year or two. In addition, the cracks in my deck boards were getting wider/deeper, wood-knots were falling out, etc. After considering options, I decided to try the Behr Porch & Patio Floor Paint. As you can see in the attached picture ... the results are excellent. It is worth noting that this picture was taken THREE YEARS AFTER APPLICATION, and it still looks great. Also worth noting is that I took the time to thoroughly prep the deck boards by using an exterior grade filler to repair the cracks and knot holes. My next project will be my garage floor. Not sure if I'll stain the concrete or use the epoxy paint, but will definitely be looking at the Behr products for application.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from pool deck refresh Living in Arizona, I own a pool and the low lustre porch and patio paint has been great to refresh the textured cement deck surface around the pool. It has a superior bond and a very durable finish. Only issues I come across is the color will fade after a couple years. I would like to see the paint enhanced with UV protection and chlorinated pool water resistance. I believe this would make it an exceptional patio paint. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing better than Behr Nothing better than Behr-yes;but as far as I know nothing equals Premium Porch and Floor Enamel. Exacting preparation is not necessary as this paint fills and hides most surface flaws. The paint goes on smoothly and comes in a multitude of colors at a reasonable price.. By far, the best product of it's kind. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
