Customer Questions & Answers

Primer necessary

The product description states that it has great adhesion, but do you not need to apply primer before painting a deck and railing system with this product?
Asked by: Scott
I did not use a primer when I painted pressure treated lumber. As such, one coat produced uneven results. It took 2 full coats with a 24 hour cure in between to get even coverage. If I do it again, a coat of Kilz will go on first.

Can I use this paint for wood surfaces ?

My porch is made with wood
Asked by: Bill
Yes. If it's a wood that bleeds tannins or other stains you will want a sealing coat of primer. Primer is a good idea anyway.

does this paint fil in gaps and cover and seal cracks

Asked by: Anonymous
This paint does not fill cracks and gaps. It highlights all flaws like most paints do particularly since it is high gloss. Restore fills cracks gaps and seals down splinters on old decks.

Asked by: Anonymous
I believe you could use this on a concrete floor, in fact I'm going to use this in my basement utility room. Make sure the floor is really clean before applying paint.

Once finished it looked great, However, despite the fact I spent a long time properly preparing the previously painted concrete surface, after just a few days the finish is already showing signs of wear, chipping and pealing in spots. So naturally I am a bit disappointed, and I am typically a fan of Behr products. The idea of doing this all over again in a short period of time has be feeling pretty let down.

It covered only about 160 square feet. I had to run back to Home Depot for another bucket to finish my project. Please inform manufacturer to make it realistic and put a range like 150 sq and 200 sq.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old Sheet Vinyl Floor Fix After cleaning the floor withTSP, I applied two coats of primer, two coats of Behr Porch and Patio floor paint in silver gray low lustre, and one coat of the ultra white gloss porch and patio floor paint stenciled on top. I had to order the paint online to get these colors and finishes. The paint was easy to apply with rollers and had little odor. I followed the guidelines for drying times. You can recoat after 4-6 hours depending on climate and need to wait 72 hours before normal use. I thought this would be a good interim fix until it is time to install a new floor. I am very satisfied with results.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wrong Color I gave this a 3 star only because on the can it says slate gray but it turned out to be another color. I looked silver. I suggest you buy as usual and have it mixed to your specific color. I think they maybe got the labels mixed up. The paint itself is great but just not the right color. This can was already mixed ready to buy. Don't!!! Until you have them open it to check it first.
