Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Absolute garbage! Used this stuff on some projects over two weeks ago and it is still sticky. Wouldn't recommend using it. June 4, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NOT the same color as Redwood Behr Stain I have purchased before I decided to step it up a notch this time and purchase the longer lasting 6-year deck, 8 year railing. I applied it to my deck after using Behr stripper and Behr wood renewing product. Wow. It is orange. Not sure what happened at the factory but I do not have the energy to strip this all back off, and it does not go with my gray house. I will be painting the deck instead. July 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Stuff After 2 weeks our deck is still sticky and is already discoloring in places. The color is way too dark and more like a paint than a stain. Paint in different directions is noticeable. We are now re-sanding and starting over because there is no way we can live with this. Three sands later, and this stuff is still ingrained in our wood. I would never recommend this product, and I wish Behr would reimburse me for the 3 gallons I bought not to mention all the labor I am paying for to have my deck redone. March 5, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Orange and solid, barely transparent I will start off by telling you that if you are expecting semi transparent you are going to be disappointed. The redwood color is barely transparent, way too solid. To make matters worse the "redwood" color is ORANGE, not redwood. I applied the product to a cleaned and power washed deck. Applied the product in the morning so that it was cool enough. I have a very large deck and this is the fourth time staining it, but first time with a Beyer product. I am rating this product a 3 star for now as i am not sure how well the product will actually work, right now it seems to be sitting too high or on top of the wood - lending credibility to other reviewers that state the product peels off very quickly on flat surfaces. For almost $40 a gallon I would expect much much better from Beyer. July 2, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I expected from Behr I've only had this product on my deck for a few weeks so I can't speak to it's durability. This is not a deck "stain" but a latex paint. There is very very little penetration. It lays on top of the wood. The cure time is quite long, about 4 days. It says semi-transparent but I used semi-transparent products before and the wood and grain was clearly visible. The finished look is similar to painting raw wood with a latex paint. I'm not impressed. I'll see how it weathers. It is going to be a huge job to remove the finish and go back to the type of stains I've used before. July 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding coverage and ease of use. I am on my second gallon of this redwood stain while building an outside, raised vegetable garden. Used on pine 2X8's and 4X4's the coverage is excellent and short drying time makes for very desirable working conditions. I have been impressed with the product so far. Since this is a first for me durability is still a wait-and-see element. So far I like what it does. July 21, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Orange This stain looked great on my new redwood deck after 1 coat, but the can says 2 coats are required, so we put on a second a couple days later. Big mistake. My deck is now bright orange and all the natural beauty of the wood is covered in what looks more like a solid vs semi-transparent stain. Planning on stripping it off and starting over.
