I am in a remote area, far from civilization and had a small amount of green mold growing on board and batten siding about two feet off the ground on the north side of the building. I have several gallons of the stain to apply on this building, but did not see the mold prior to purchasing the stain. We live an hour and a half, one way, from the nearest Home Depot. I did not have any of your #63 or #64 product, but did have some Clorox. Out of necessity, I diluted it with water and sprayed some on the mold and was pleasantly surprised the mold came off. I rinsed the area down with fresh water and am letting it dry. Can I now apply my Behr Premium Solid Color Weather Proofing Wood Stain and Sealer without further treatment once the wood is dry?

Hi James!
Thanks for your question! Since the mold has been treated, it's okay to apply the Solid Color Wood Stain; just make sure the rest of the surface is clean and dry before recoating. Best wishes on your project! Best, Jeanette P.

Hi Shaun!
Thanks for writing in! It's okay to use the Solid Color Wood Stain over a polyurethane that's in good condition. To prepare the surface, it's recommended to lightly sand the coating, and clean the project with something like the No. 63 All-in-One Cleaner. 1 gal. #SC-101 Atlantic Solid Color Weatherproofing All-In-One Wood Stain and Sealer is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 139.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful absorption! This product was applied to weathered 20 years old exterior trim that was gray and cracking. It sealed the cracks and gave new color. After two coats that trim actually looks like new wood trim! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best stain & paint out there~ I've used Behr stains and paints for many years and have never been disappointed. Most recently put on a coat of weatherproofing solid, Cape Cod Grey, on a 12x12 shed sided with all wood T1-11. Rolled it on with a 3/8 roller and it worked well even on the rough T1-11. Used this same stain and same color on a similar shed I built about 12 years ago. One coat and it still looks great! I've been around quite a while and believe me over the years I've tried just about every paint and stain made and nothing beats Behr products - not even close! Rated 3 out of 5 by from Has A Serious Issue I have purchased 50 or so gallons of this product over the last 7 years to weather proof our home on Hatteras Island, NC. My experience has been that vertical applications hold up very well, but horizontal applications do not fare nearly as well, requiring repainting every 2-3 years. The product does not stain treated exterior lumber, rather it forms a coating on top of the wood surface, even when heavily sanded. The hard rain and the marine climate, plus staining of the paint by leaves and soil residue, deteriorates the surface and the coating peels off. This does not happen on vertical surfaces, even using the same lumber. And this product is expensive in the iniitial purchase, not to mention the frequent applications. I am now considering using a UV resistant epoxy paint instead for better adhesion. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old fence looks new again!! We had a fence that was in decent shape structure wise but the color was so faded and gray it made the whole backyard look gross. I wanted to stain it, and found this product - it goes on like paint and covered the fence perfectly with a sprayer. We used the dark chocolate color on the fence. Looks amazing and brand new. Would recommend to anyone!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This deck looks and feels brand new!! I have a 20 year old green treated deck that is approximately 1200 sq feet. It was very weathered and faded with tree sap, mildew and age. I first power washed to remove all of the tree sap and mildew. Then sanded a few rough horizontal surfaces. Then replaced a few warped and/or twisted floor planks. I then applied the first and second coats of Behr Premium Solid color stain with a power roller. The results were absolutely amazing! The deck looks practically brand new! Please see the 2 attached pictures. I'm so proud of the results! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Use We stained our house with this. It is amazing. We went from a dark brown stain & used Muted Sage, Barn Red & Elephant Skin. We did have to put 2 coats on, but had anticipated that with beginning with such a dark color. It was very easy to use & clean up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still going strong Behr Premium was applied to a 25 year old deck. This was the first solid color stain applied. Previous semi trans stains were applied every three to five years. The Behr Premium has been on for four years and still is solid, not pealing and washes clean with a hose. Very pleased with this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
